The only thing about the Sti, is that they are so common out here that you can blend in better even with the wing. WRX are even more common, so if you lose the wing you would be almost invisible. That is always nice. However, once I get in and start driving, I have no regrets.
The Mitsu dealerships out here are ****, but I have never had to go back after the initial purchase. My Evo has been stone reliable, which is not something I can say about any other car that I have had. Even with some track time. And with the weak 6 spd. Never burned a drop of oil either. And my stock tires were worn to slicks by 5,000 miles so I am not exactly babying it. But I also service it way more than required.

yes and no but i love my evo way more
here is my reasoning
my uncle owned a mitsu dealership but sold his half
honce i couldnt get the X MR as i planned
the day i got the evo
i drove the STi in the AM
went to my uncles dealership in the PM
showed me a price I couldnt say no to
went home with the car for two weeks as an extended test drive
then signed the papers afterwards
also i still cant stand the sound of unequal length manifolds
My old 78 930 turbo never sounded like the STi and that car was badass in its day
if i had the STi it would be a new one and it would have equal length manifolds to ease up that misfiring blat blat sound they make
however it would be about 10k more than i paid for my new MR in 06...
gotta love family
