I had an STi, and I can honestly say the only time I really enjoyed driving it was on the way to trade it in at Mitsubushi haha

I haven't driven an STi and I love my Evo. That being said I think in my case I probably should have gone with an STi, since i daily drive my Evo and (especially after reading evom) I feel obligated to mod and unlock its real potential.

Bieng only 22 and having the EVO as my 6th car. I would say I love my EVO too much to change again. It is the only car that I have had longer than 18 months. Lol.

My buddy has a STi and I have my Evo with both go at each other all the time about each others car. I love my Evo way too much to go to an STi. But I do love the way his car sounds. Plus you have to spend 2x as much money to get a STi at the same power as the Evo!!!!!

I've heard of problems with the horizontally opposed cylinder design in the STi. It tends to wear out the bottom side of the cylinder walls much quicker than an engine with vertically oriented cylinders, due to this unexpected phenomenon called "gravity"

After my accident 2 yeas ago..I decided to get into the awd turbo cars, Evo was my 1st love..well, I also like the STi's until one day out of curiosity I test drove the STi. Unfortunately, I was disappointed I just didn't like the way it handles it feels very heavy and I don't feel the chemistry with this car. But then when I test drove the Evo, to make the story short... took the car home with a happy smile....The End lol!!!

I never regret having my evo. I test drove both cars when I was looking into a turbo awd and ended up with an evo.

Evo>STi

STI's sound mean... that is where my praise for them stops.

I love everything about my Evo. Coming from a dsm back ground the evo is the god of all import cars imho. Ranks right up there with the Supra and the R34Skyline .

Cream of the crop factory Impreza at any generation so far is the GDB Rev G (insect nose) 2006 Spec C Type RA-R, followed by the S204. If you search Youtube, theres a video of Keiichi Tsuchiya testing an S204 on the usual mountain road in that video magazine. After you watch that vid, you would re-think about even considering an STI as your car unless you plan on a complete overhaul. I just can't imagine how bad a USDM STI would be.
