Have you gone to a dealer and seen trade in values or put you truck in some trucktraders and such. Show her that you're making a half hearted effort to sell "your" truck. Try to pitch it like this:

"Look, I know that I've mentioned getting an evo and you didn't seem to swell on it, but hear me out. I have a truck now which I want to get rid of whenever the kid comes so it's not such a hassle to get in/out, etc (insert random made up explanations here). Now, I'm willing to give up my beloved truck to do this, but if I did I'd like to replace it with an Evo x. This is something that I don't want to do unless it's going to make both of us happy and you know I'd be happy with it, so I want to make you feel the same way.
It's much more than just buying myself a toy. There's plenty of upsides: the resell value, the safety, awd, (insert random selling points here). So instead of arguing about this. I'll sell the truck and I want you to come look at them with me. ..And no I'm not saying this means I won by any means, this is simply looking (ie visually stimulating her versus talking car that she doesn't care about) at them so we can make a joint decision."

If that doesn't work...sell your truck. Don't tell her how much you sold it for. Go buy an Evo X, debadge it. Don't ever mention Evo again. And tell her that she was right, an evo wasn't a good descision right now, so you decided to sacrifice and get a lancer but you're just as happy since you made it look just like one.

...that'd be what I'd do at least.

Yeh I'm about to buy the pink Recaro for my daughter. We had been planning on the Recaro for a long time, but my daughter was too little. She has a few more inches to go and she'll be in it I can't wait!! It's funny you mentioned it my wife was talking about it last night!!

My wife convinced me to get her the new EVO X I liked her VIII but, after I test drove the 2008 X and the new STI. It was hands down the EVO X.

We ordered a custom one, it took about a month to come. The wait was terrible I couldn't wait to get it and break it in.

I feel like these other guy's as far as driveability, and fun the EVO VIII-X win every time. As far as saftey, stability the X is great. It's unbelievable how it holds to the road. I've tried to get it to break loose and and make it feel unsafe and I haven't suceeded yet. I felt like I was always still in control wet roads, cold roads, or snowy roads. Has anyone else tried to do this yet?

The best car ever, it really should win more awards, and be more popular! The X MR is a bit expensive, the GSR is a better priced we got ours fully loaded for 42K, Wifey loves the NAV, and merging onto the highway LOL!! Minus the interior sports package, you can always upgrade that with aftermarket parts if you choose to. I GOT IT TAKE HER TO THE DEALERSHIP AND LET HER TEST DRIVE ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on the baby! Sorry to hear about the wife not wanting the EVO though, lol. I can understand why though,at least right now. If I were you I would ditch the truck and buy an SUV for her, then ditch the Stang and buy an EVO for yourself. Easier said then done im sure but it sounds like a great start, lol. Later.
