New to EvolutionM and have a few questions?

I'm 25 and I'm about 1-2 months away from buying a 2006 Evo 9. I plan on getting wicked white because there's none in my area that color. My questions are how much boost can you safetly run on a stock turbo with all supporting mods and also if you have a gt3076r turbo kit should you build up the bottom end or no? I've heard different opinions on stock turbos and for the gt3076r I've heard just rods and the car will take it. Please let me know!

building the bottom end depends on hp number really. what are you shooting for. You can have 500 whp on stock bottom end and just be fine. I seend 30 psi ran on the stock turbo but of course its all peak horsepower and not there long. just decide on your goals for the car and that will determine your mod path easily.

The car I'm looking a has a gt3076r and a stock bottom end. It hasn't been dynoed but it ran a 10.9 on slicks. Wow 30psi is crazy the most I've seen is 26psi.

welcome to evoM. i've heard people running up to mid-twenties on the stock turbo, and up to 30's with meth. One thing to keep in mind though is that you'll be running the turbo out of spec.

Mostly, I think it just comes down to your tuner. You reach a certain point where you can up the boost, but if it is outside the efficiency of the turbo, you're not going to be making any more "power". Running the turbo "outside its range", is also going to have more wear/tear and result in a noticeable increase in temps - just keep that in mind moving forward with your project and make sure you maintain it properly so it'll last! let us know when u pick ur evo up.

Well thanks guys its been a huge help. The car right now has all the bolt ons like most evos and that gt30r kit. It hasn't been dynoed, but its estimated to have 420-440awhp. I'm dying to get it. I've been planning to get a 2006 Evo for over a year. It's a 2006 wicked white MR with a 5 speed swap in it too. It'll be my daily driver until winter comes around. I've done some research and it seems like if I just get stronger connecting rods and bearings I'll be ok for now. My goal eventually is to get a gt35r kit and I'm sure I'll have to build the motor at that point. I want a safe 450-500awhp as a daily driver without worrying about anything letting go. I'm a huge Evo enthusiast and I'm counting down the seconds. Also my two closest friends drive a Nissan 240sx and a Subaru STI and they talk somuch crap, I cannot wait to shut them up. They both have work done, but don't come close to this evo yet. What do you guys think?
