Was set on an STi but...

I can't get the Evo out of my head!

Test drove an 05' MR last week and now I am leaning towards the Evo.

I am looking for a low miles stock or stage 2 06' MR... preferably blue or white.

The Evo so far feels much better to me than the STi.

Anyways, this is my first post here... so hi...

Thanks for the input...

I've been researching STi's for most of the past year and it's only within the past week (since my test drive) that I've gotten hip on the Evo. So, forgive my ignorance...

Anyway, I was not aware that there is no such thing as an electric blue 06' MR. Too bad...

I do like the Graphite Gray Pearl.

What do you guys call a down pipe, exhaust and a tune? Isn't that commonly referred to as "stage 2"? Maybe that's only in the STi world. I've spent most of my time over at the STi forums reading / researching. My Evo research starts here.

A lot of guys here have a tendency to itemize things, or just say basic bolt ons, with a tune, etc.... or just use abreviations TBE, FPR, and so on.

Doesn't mean you won't ever see it. Some Vendors use it, like mentioned before.

Don't worry about it though, we're all glad you're here.

I'm helping a friend do the same thing. He contacted me after he drove an Evo as a break from looking at Subie's and was saved, baptized, and sanctified right there on the spot. Now we're trying to find him one that hasn't been hosed up by ghetto mods, or trashed and over boosted.

PS. There's no Blue MR's ... LOL .... factory, anyway.

Yup, waiting for a truly pristine, one owner, low mileage 06' MR in a color I like could take me a while...

Go for the Evo. Subies don't make power mod for mod compared to an Evo.

We are in 2009. IX MR was only made in 2006. The chances of you finding an Evo that is in pristine condition is slim. Just about every used Evo you come across is gonna be beaten up on and have had multiple owners already. Just my 2 cents.

My room mate had an 05 STI and I have an 06 Evo IX. Mod for mod the Evo will beat the STI. If you are basing your decision purely on a performance aspect, the Evo is the way to go.

just gotta keep ur eyes open and keep looking. Granted, i got really lucky finding my 2006 IX MR, with 38k...near perfect condition, all stock and one owner. nothing was changed...all the paint on the bolt/parts werent tampered with.funny thing was.... i was SET on a 2006 STI, before stumbling on the MR. its a coin toss for me.
