FP Red 80mm vs FP Black vs PTE 6262
Here's another Red Build from Reese on a Buschur 2L: http://www.socalevo.net/index.php?op...&topic=86986.0
^^Just for a comparison, the dyno is setup the same as Bushur's Dyno

sorry, by pnp I meant ported and polished head. Heh. I know the shortblock is expensive, but I plan on keeping the car for a long long time, and I am a firm believer of if you do it once, do it right the first time. Id much rather drop a good amount in the motor up front and have it done right, then constantly have to rip it open again and again. My goals are only mid 500s, with that the head, double pump, new cams and some more porting work on other things I am pretty sure I will reach that with ease. Just never want to have to rip it up again, and want to be able to throw any turbo or mod at it.

according to FP, the 73HTA is good for 80% of the power a RED will do based on airflow numbers... if there's any murdering going on exceeding that then it's probably not a good comparison as far as what the turbo will do, but maybe the supporting mods favoring one or the other
^ HTA Green will BLOW stock motors before a Red or a Black will. Go Black and keep your tq below 425 and you will be gtg and should be around 550hp. The HTA Greens will make 500hp but will also make to much tq for the stock motor and loading the stock block up with high tq numbers low in the powerband is not a smart idea. 70 percent of the recent blown motors that I have seen have been HTA Green.

Greens tq monster but it has its place. just curious as the fact if a 500 whp hta green and a 500 whp fp red went at it at the track which puts down the better time. Lets say everything is identical and both are driven the same exact way.(what if question now) the higher tq green or higher hp red. just wondering
I turned my tune down for exactly this reason, until I build the motor up. I should be at WAY higher torque on E85 with all my mods, but I am keeping it around 410 for a reason. Don't want to see parts of my powertrain scattered all over the highway. I am just enjoying the reliability and the quick spool in a safe zone, until I break the bank and build it, then I will unleash the beast... I would be interested to hear or read on all the cars that blew with the HTA, any threads or specs on those? Thanks for the information!
