06 Evo IX or 04 VW R32
My question didnt really ask what people thought was better, although the thread title makes it seem that way. I was just trying to find out which car I could make 400whp with for cheaper. I know most here would say get an Evo. But an Evo forum would know how much it would take roughly to achieve the HP I was looking for.
I was probly going to buy the Evo even if the VW was cheaper. I had a first gen Eclipse GSX before and that car was a blast, wanna get back into a Mitsubishi.

you will need to do an HPA, streetwerks, or other turbo kit.. which is expensive... and probably want to tinker with a little more than that... plus, not many people out there really do the thorough tuning that people in this niche do.
You can make 400whp very reasonably with an evo.
believe me, im a german car guy.. i had 3 VR6's vw's, and audi 1.8t, and audi s4 with RS4 widebody and widebody conversion that was featured in european car, a few other others like a 997 GT3.. etc... and I always come back to the evo's for bang for the buck fun under 80,000 bucks!

I must say the bang for the buck aspect is there for the Evo....I like the styling and getting that boost is a great feeling. I'm going to sell the R32 and pick up an Evo, aftermarket parts are also way cheep than anything for the R32. I'm not leaving the VW world all together I still have my 95 golf vr6 to put around in as a DD.
I appreciate everyone's input and surprised to see a few VW fans here. And if there saying go Evo, I cant really complain. lol
Once again thanks for the input and hopefully I can snag up a decent Evo IX here in a few months.
Also CB that Audi is sweet. Thanks for you input! I see your in York, Im from Reading,PA. Just in CO because of military. Once my contract is up ill be back in PA maybe ill see you around.

Just a question to the poster who said that the R32 is not a true AWD...not to stir the pot, but the only reason that Mitsubishi has had so much success in the rally scene with their AWD system is they realized VAG's quattro was taking every race...which inspired mitsubishi to design their AWD system to compete... So how can you say that the company that originally designed an AWD system made an AWD car that isn't truly AWD? Again, not stirring the pot, just wondering what this statement was based off of. And also not saying the the ACD isn't amazing and very hard to beat...
