disengaging the throw out bearing. there should be a rubber plug that goes in there. Make sure you have yours installed.

how does this rubber plug help with disengaging of the tob? also does anyone have a pic of what that area should look like. i have an 05 evo and there is a giant hole on the clutch side that i would think something should go in there, but i kept hearing about a observation window (and i thought that was it). i don't do clutch, stuff i just do minor upgrades. so if anyone had a pic or could take one i would appreciate it as my car is currently down. if the tob is not disengaged would that stop you from being able to get into gear?

thanks

that has nothing to do with the clutch...
if you're talkin about the one around teh clutch fork it's there to just for the clutch fork most remove it... you can see what kind of clutch you have in there... also when doing a clutch job you remove it to get to teh tob...

not having it will not affect your car

theres another hole like that with a breather rubber grommet directly on the other side of the bottom one. which would basically be on top of the trans but offset to the rear slightly if maybe you want to take that with you to a dealer to show them?

I bet he said 4.40, as mitsuparts.net sells it for 2.17.

That plug will keep dirt and road grime from getting into your bell housing. However I've run more than one car without them with no real problems. It's a bit like running without a timing belt cover, many do it but it's not ideal.
