Hey everyone i am thinking about what intake i should get. i like the RS from HKS, but i have heard that it was not sooo great. I just wanted to see with other evo people had. I heard the apexi one was good. I am not sure about others. please let me know thanks.

 

I pretty much have the same question. what is the diff between the hks suction kit and rs intake? my friend has the aem which looks nice but I think some cold air intakes are coming out soon.

 

I just installed my RMR intake. Its great. I noticed the turbo spools up much quicker. If your scared that the intake will suck in hot air you can add thr RMR hood scoop/ cold air induction. Encloses the intake and sucks cold air from your hood

 

Its called the HKS Racing Suction Intake. It's awesome IMO, not a single problem and serious high end gains in my opinion. There are tons of reviews if you just search...but coming from someone who has it, i love it and think its work every penny.

 

i think i am gonna get it, but i know some people say that it did bad on a rating, but i wanted to ask evo people 1st. thats all. its easy to put on right. ????

I have the aem unit. I think suckin in hot air is not really a problem. Because I touch the intake filter everytime after a hard drive to see if it is hot. It is actually really cool. And I have noticed some serious high end gain too. I raced a firebird v8 today. Spank him on the roll. It was unable to pass me. Raced him on 4th to 5th gear, and the stock evo could have been stumped if you race it like that. With a nice catback or turboback, I think the intake can help ur turbo spool up alil quicker and give you some ponies too. For sure, high end power has been improved greatly over stock. Watever the case is, I'll be testing my evo against a stock evo soon. Mods: aem intake and HKS catback. Wish me luck.

 

I love mine sounds awesome (all you hear is SUCTION as soon as the boost comes on)

How is the bov sound? I rode with my friend at the track and he has the aem and I couldnt here his bov.

 

You can hear it very well and also the intake makes a unique suction noise , pretty sweet . I like to scare pedestrians with mine

 

with the HKS kit the stock diverter valve is pretty damn loud, expecially with the window open!

 

any sound clips blue rocket/quickshift???

 

hey did your RS package come with the MAS air pipe??? some come with them, others dont
