GT35r

So I'm looking upgrading my turbo to the AMS GT35r, along with intercooler and injectors. My question, will this be a good match with the stock engine or would I want to swap that out as well.

It all depends on what your goals are if your looking to stay with 550 whp max then the stock block will be fine as long as you have a good tuner and try to keep your tq low...

You won't get as much out of the combination with the stock block becuase you will be semi limited.

What cams?
Pump Gas or Pump with meth injection or E85?

The 35R loves high boost - the stock block in good condition can handle about 500 whp which depending on your setup the 35R can easily make that kinda power....

I know everyone will disagree with me on this but if I had to REDO the way I modded my car, choosing the block would be the first thing. And then doing the full bolt ons, then last the turbo kit.....

I would build the block you want first, then get the turbo(kit) you want after that.

my next car (evo of course) will be another 2.3 stroker motor but that will be the first thing that I do to it.......... then I will build my car around the motor.... but thats just me since I rebuilt my whole car

Dang it! You make some really good points, thx. Cams 272's Seeing that this is my first evo maybe a fp red or blk. might be the way to go. Right now this is going to be my weekend sleeper muscle car. I already know I'm going to need another Evo, maybe do a full swap from the start, then build around the engine sounds like the best way to go...I just don't want to a full build on my first evo, just enough to have fun.
Thx-

Now you're using your head. There is no reason whatsoever to consider a GT35R for a 500whp setup. An FP Red or Black will do that (and more) with superior spool and transient response, and at half the price.

I would have to agree with building the motor first. Even thoguh the motors are said to handle such and such power levels, any motor pushing a turbo that large with that power you can expect something to break eventually. Just because it's know to handle something doesnt mean it was meant to and will last.
