First Car
I'd really have to agree with everyone elses sentiments here. The Evo is not a great choice for your first car. Really, you have to consider more than just the price of the car like others have said. Fuel, clutch, general maintainence (especially higher mileage cars).
It sounds like you're making a much better choice by picking an e30 for a first ride. For reference, it took me 7 1/2 years to get my Evo and I've wanted one since they first came out, but when I was 16/17 it just wasn't realistic.
I wish you the best of luck with whatever car you end up with though, and hopefully someday down the road you can get into an Evo. You'll appreciate it that much more when you finally get one too! (I know I did). Hope this helped some. Like I said, best of luck!

wow looked back at this thread at the end of the day and that was a lot of comments! somewhere down the line, you'll jump into an evo i'm sure. i'm still looking to buy my first one and i've been looking for a couple of years. like everyone mentioned and from my personal experience as well, invest your money wisely especially if you're thinking about post-grad.
I agreed with everyone about not getting an Evo as your first car. I'm 22 and currently driving a rsx type s and i've been wanting an Evo for so long. I've been saving and saving and i would say i'm almost there for an Evo 9. I work full time but there is a lot of things more than just the price of the car itself. Maintainance and insurance will be lot.
