Should I EVOlve?
Just take your time, save some money, do some research, graduate and get a job - then the evo. Your civic is an '08, should be in great condition, and will save you a ton of monies while your in school.
Keep in mind that you are going to graduate soon(assuming), don't forget about school loans closing in on you. I got hit pretty bad with them and they kept me from getting an evo for about year and a half. I would also look into a 8 or a 9. They are considerably cheaper and you get same thrill. IMO make your way through college and then splurge.
i hear all you! im going to have school for at least 4 more years because im going for my masters and i am taking out loans. i am getting scholarships as well but yea this car is going to eat up alot of my money. im going to the dealer tomorrow to talk to them and hopfully they will give me some dissatisfying news and it be to much. plus not having a dealer close scares me alot as well. I hate waiting but its prob what im going to have to do
I agree with the guys who suggested wait until you're out of school. You will be under enough pressure to succeed and you wont want money to be super tight. If you can't do maintenance yourself, dealerships charge a lot for basic services, and major repairs will decimate your finances. Being under warranty you will most certainly have to drive to the dealership as most ordinary shops don't know jack about evos and cant be trusted. Being an evo too, a lot of dealerships try and weasel out of warranty repairs accusing you of abuse, especially heard of this re: clutch replacement.
I kept a reliable little nissan throughout college, had it 9 years, and it was not an exhilarating car by any stretch of the imagination. My mates were working, had skylines, silvias, 180sx etc and it was hard to resist but I'm glad I did. Just wait and do it properly once you graduate and get a job.

so update on the car..... i went to mitsubishi today they only had the gsr with the sight and sound so that was deff way to expensive lol. then they gave me a price for the car in just basic gsr trim and it was still a lil high so i think i am holdin off on it
i did take a test drive however, even though i have driven one before, and i love driving that thing. cruising in fifth you have great response without downshiftin but they really do need a sixth for economy. and i don't really like the throw on the clutch. feels long and soft. imo. my honda clutch seems to fell better. But dang its def a car that when i got the money i will buy. i was talkin to the guy about service and he was sayin there might be shops that mitsubishi will recognize in tallahassee but its a slim chance and i would have to talk to the company about that. a funny thing though he did tell me was that i could put an intake, exhaust, and "chip" without voiding the warranty n i was like yeaaaaaa oook lol. but i do love this car!!! and i know you guys love yours!!!!
