Exclamation Important.. Brake job info. Must read!

Yesterday I did a brake job on my 05' with 50k on it. The rears were no problem and everything was fine. I went to remove the front calipers and the mounting bolts seized in the caliper stripping 2 out of the 4 upon removal.. one on each side.. Common thing when 2 dissimilar metals are together. I was able to re tap the threads and salvage them saving an expensive repair !

Remove all the caliper mounting bolts and make Sure the threads have ANTI-SEIZE on them. It will save your caliper threads down the road next time you have to remove them !!

I had the same problem with one bolt, I didn't screw around and installed a thread insert repair.

I use anti-seize on pretty much every bolt that I touch on the under carriage of my cars.

How the hell is this a newbie thing? I posted this info to potentially save people headaches... It is not a noob question or anything.. This forum is nice and all but I won't waste my time here anymore. Just delete my account or whatever..
