pmpnOZ's super newbie question thread (MERGE)
you dont need an LSD or pistons, only depends on how much boost your running... IC 7-8 psi non ic 5-6 psi stock pistons hold up to 9 psi also.. be prepared to have a dyno or a person who can tune very well close by..
well, the (205,215,235) are basically the width size of your tires...thats TIRES not rims. the bigger the #, the wider it is. the middle number (40,45) are the size of the tire walls, in other words, how "fat" the tire looks if you're looking at the car from a side view. again, the bigger the #, the more it'll look like "BIG FOOT". and the last number is the size of the rim, 17 inches. sometimes you'll see another numer behind that one and that'll be the width of the rims...ex: 215/40/17 7.5 means tire size is 215/40 on a 17 inch rim thats 7.5 wide. did that make sense???
To be straight forward, it means search.... they have to do with the tire sizes, ie tread width, sidewall size and rims size. Try going here: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html Get your tire size and put it in and then try the sizes you listed to see which one fits best.
