Just bc you don't like it, doesn't make it "rice"

OP, I've used night shade numerous times and have had good luck with it. But it can be tricky to use.

I see a lot of people go with the VHT niteshade with mixed reviews, some are happy while some aren't. I have a tint shop near that tints taillights with vinyl and chargers $40 for each tail light, which is quite a bit, since one can of niteshade is only $15 or so. If any of you guys have tinted headlights, please post your pictures and tell me how you did them!

Do you guys think I should use niteshade and do it my self or go to the tint shop?

Thanks!
Just a heads up, both options are considered illegal in all 51 states. My friend got pulled over and got a repair ticket so if you paint them, be prepaired to spend $350 on new taillights. If anything go vinal and pray law inforcement doesnt pull you over. If they do, you can remove it on the spot.

I used VHT on my car personally but I layered it, wet sanded and then cleared my lights. I did go a little too dark though but they looked sick in my opinion. Like stated above though, I kept getting pulled over so I bought the ebay Depo tails.

I used the niteshade on my 2g. I will never use that again. I really didn't like the look on my Talon so I ended up picking another set of tails.

I really dislike the stock Evo 8 altezza tails that look ricey, so I bought the cut vinyl off ebay just to use temporarily. They actually look decent, way better then the stock look. They just have a blue tint during the day. But their easy to peel off too.

Actually I live in Canada, but it's illegal here too. What I was wondering is how strict are cops on that, and if they bother to stop people just for tinted lights. I want a really dark look, I dont know if vinyl can give me that look.

Another thing, I think I can get very bright light bulbs for the tail lights, so it shines even better through the tint. Anyone know anything about that or have experience changing tail light bulbs?

I would be careful with changing out for "brighter" bulbs simply because the wiring going to that bulb is only rated to handle a certain amount of voltage/amperage. Brighter bulbs=hotter burning=more electricity needed to flow through the wiring which could cause some problems you don't want.

Actually I wanted to get LEDs which require less power and run cooler the only problem is that they require so little power that some people say they get a light on their dashboard saying the light isn't there cause it uses so little energy the car doesn't detect it haha.
