Evo dies, now check engine light wont turn off?
Hey fellas. So today I ran into a situation with the evo. It's a 03 gsr, tbe, perrin IC, intake, tune. It has ran flawlessly until i was driving on the highway, did a little pull to pass a car. I put it in neutral to coast to the red light when i realized there was no power steering. I look down and sure enough the car is dead (didn't hear over music). I stop at the stoplight and try starting it. It cranked but did not fire up. After multiple attempts it finally fired up.
Now it runs fine but the only issue here is that now my service engine light is on and wont go off. Something to be worried about?

yup, or you can go to autozone and they can pull up the code for you as well and just post it up here and we can help you out. I wouldnt trust what autozone has to tell you other than the specific code the scanner gives out though.

^ I was just there! It was $60 for that one
. Anyways I got it scanned and it threw 2 codes.
0340 - Camshaft sensor
0355 - Crankshaft sensor
Are these expensive sensors? Hard to replace? and is it okay to drive it well because.. It's my only car lol. It runs fine so does that mean theyre not bad or that theyre going bad? I dont want to be stranded anywhere lol

No they arent . At the most youll probably a small price to pay. like 15-20 bucks at the dealer. So what its 60 bucks its worth the investment to scan your car unless you have the money to drive down to the autozone and wastegas or go to the dealer for them to over charge you. 60 bucks is a snll price to pay on these cars to check the code imo
Basically that sensor is on its way out. The purpose of that sensor was to send a signal back to the computer after reading it to aid and calculate the rpm, ignition timing, fuel injection and crankshaft positioning of the cams to keep the car running and starting it up.

cool thanks! So the sensors at the dealer are around $20 a piece? Cause I was looking online and they were running around 60 a piece?
Yeah $60 isn't expensive I was just sayin! My car doesn't throw codes as often and I'm not modding my car heavily. The autozone is just down the street and they scan it for free!
