I really thought that my Black was just way too powerfull... untill i got on my friends hta3586..

yeah it is not even close hta86 is just way more powerfull than my black. we are both on e85.

black will still get you to 600 with e85 but just does not pull to red line like hta86 does..

red was nice.. black was better.

i did not loose any spool going from red to black. tq came a little faster with the red.
top end is not close black>red

no T3 style turbo is going to have nice transient response like the smaller bbk/green/red style twinscroll oem housing turbos...

And on stock block, for most guys those three will provide THE BEST power under the curve for your package.... We've shown this over and over again.. I have overlays of BBK's VS 30R, 35R, etc on the same cars... and there is a 100wtq difference at 4200 rpm on some of them, and only a loss of maybe 10-15whp up top...

Depends on how you want the power to be delivered and what you want the car to do...

youre going to get different opinions on here like there is no other.... BUT you have to know HOW you want the car to react when you touch the throttle.... how you generally drive the car (street, track, roadrace etc)... to make an educated decision...

For most people, I feel the stock housing options are best... even if you dont use one of our products

Cheers

Partly because there are many more reds out there than bbks?

Well i watched some videos and the black doesnt spool that much later i can deal with it. Itll also stop my heavy foot problem as i dont like to explore the high rev range in my car all the time that is. And the price im getting on the black no one can beat so thats mainly one of the reasons why im going with the black, and ill always have the room to improve in the near future

op, i think you're forgetting some critical points.

* hp is not what blows motors or trans its the tq and smaller turbos are far torquier than the t3 turbos. you can get a flat tq with t3 and even though a black can be tuned down it'll still be torquier

*achilles mentioned the 6262 because with less boost you can achieve that of the stock framed simply because it can breathe.

*the way the turbos hit are not the same at all. the hks and 6262 are worlds apart. when the 6262 hits its a wrap. Those who max their stock frames always end up going bigger for more power. I've known many to swap from black to t3 because of the way it "hits" when you drive.

*transient boost response of bbk and hks turbo are good because of ball bearing design. Inbetween shifts its going to feel different. also more reliable

The hks turbo was designed for road racing and it's not for max hp. The bbk series from cbrd like mentioned will also provide fast spool and low end tq great for streets. Ask r/ternie about his 7460 and what he thinks. hell break it down more for you

so the question is: do you want a ***** to the wall killer down the road and play it safe now with good reliability, low tq and lower boost needed but slower spool?

or do you want fast spool, instant tq and reliability street sweeper?

I personally would choose the hks/bbk series for your needs. But if you feel the need to grow and push it, It won't happen easily. A lot of great mods and tweaks will be needed to get 500 on that. even IVEY said it himself.

you'd have to ask chad himself about limits of his turbo but i know it's amazing for street/road use.

let us know what u get
