Funny/stupid things people say/ask about your Evo!
After reading all 119 pages, I have concluded a few things.
If people had bothered to read the thread, they would've seen everyone else saying the same thing over and over already. Yes, people think we drive Subaru's. Yes, they want us to do burn outs. It stopped being an entertaining post after the first few pages.
Instead of looking down on people who compliment your car, even if they are misinformed as to what exactly is is they're complimenting, say thank you, and maybe politely inform them of what they are complimenting. You drive what they call a "niche" car. The general population has no idea what it is. Why not educate them instead of "/facepalm" every time someone has a misconception about the awesomeness that is the Evo?

A guy at work said " you got a car off that fast and furious movie" I said yes. He then said " I bet you can't get it side ways, like they was doing". I replied with "I'm not that good of a driver yet" smh
As a small aside to this, my workplace seems to be building a tradition of issuing everyone nicknames...my selection of cars (I had a 2005 STI a while back and now the Evo) has earned me the nickname "Tokyo Drift"
I put my 21 month old son in the his car seat the other day and when I get in he starts going "errrrrrrrrrrmmm... Boom!!" I looked back and said "are you driving like daddy?!" Sure enough, we get on the road and start driving and he's going "errrrrmmmmm... Boom!!" halfway to the baby sitter's house

two old guys walk up and look at it and say " its got that damn hole in the hood, soon as it rains one time, the whole cars ruined, so stupid" i was just eves dropping but i lol'd pretty hard and let them continue on.... (got 5th in an all muscle car show by the way lol)

( me in my IX and a guy in his supercharged s2k were the only two imports in the show)

he tried to tell me thats not possible, and at this time the SRT owner strolls up and says "Forged internals?" i said yep, he said "I or H beam" i said "I" he said "nice" and strolled off. its so funny when you run into people that know what they are looking at and know what the words mean Vs people that watch Fst&furryness. the kid then started asking for a ride in my car and what i do in the 1/4mile.... i simply told him politley to "have a nice night and take care of those cars" 
this is awesome.i was out and about and came across a group sitting in a parking lot, a SRT4 neon, and a few hondas. a young kid w/ EG(92-95) had his hood popped, had a T3/T4 turbo on a single cam. cut springs and LOUD exhaust. bragging about it. i looked at it gave him a few compliments and was about to walk away when he asked "whadda you drive" i pointed said "the black sedan right there", he says "nice wing" and started LOLing, his boy leans over and goes "wait THATS AN EVO 8" and then the guy yells "hold up" and runs over to talk to me. he starts asking what i have done, i told him i have more done then i care to discuss, i then asked him how much boost he was running, he proudly says 8PSI, i said thats cool he asked how much i was running i told him 40psi, tapering to 37.... the look on his face and his boys he tried to tell me thats not possible, and at this time the SRT owner strolls up and says "Forged internals?" i said yep, he said "I or H beam" i said "I" he said "nice" and strolled off. its so funny when you run into people that know what they are looking at and know what the words mean Vs people that watch Fst&furryness. the kid then started asking for a ride in my car and what i do in the 1/4mile.... i simply told him politley to "have a nice night and take care of those cars"

he was going on and on about his buddies 1000+HP S2K that never runs.... and the dude with the SRT4 leaned over and said "Virtual Dyno" and i fell out LOL'ing. i'm coming to find out virtual dyno belivers are becomming more and more common, they are in for a rude awakening when the cross paths with a dyno tuned car. they kept asking what "stage" i was, like this is grand tourismo or something... i really wonder what stage a PTE 6262 is.... ? or in my case what "stage" is a GTX3582......

Had my X in for the 60K service; it is a place i trust so I left the GPS/detector in the car.
When I came to pick up the car the tech asked me, "Doesn't the GPS drive you crazy, telling you are over the speed limit every time you just a few over??
I let him know that the over speed alarm is actually set for 10 over the limit...busted....
