Trying to decide between the Evo and STi. Does anyone know of a dealer in Atl who will allow test drives on either car? They all seem to act like they are selling 1 off hand built super cars.

Welcome to the boards! I know Lou Sobh Mitsubishi has one that they let customers test drive if you're seriously interested.

Thanks! I am a Vols fan. I graduated in 2006. I used to have a 2004 STi that I had tuned up at TopSpeed.

Awesome! Well I hope you return to TopSpeed with your future vehicle I personally love the new Evo X's. Very fun cars. I believe my buddy just graduated last year.

I prefer the GSR because the SST transmission's in the MR's and SE's are very expensive to build and starts slipping around 450whp. Plus I like having a third pedal and a gear lever to shift.

PS: I'm actually currently in the market for an Evo X as well. My brother has an Evo 8 and I have an Evo 9 so it'll be interesting to see a 8, 9, and 10 inside our garage all in white.

It's just too bad they won't put a 6th gear on the GSR. Thats my biggest hangup since this will be a daily driver, and I don't want to buzzing around on the highway. I definitely prefer a third pedal. Are there no rebuild kits for the SST yet? I'm guess the if they are not out now they probably won't be coming out as the Evo will be an awd prius after 2013.

I actually like having 5 gears instead of 6. Less shifting and longer gears which is better once you start making more power. The 6 speed in the 8/9 MR's are weak as well so I'm not a fan of the 6 speeds.

SSP makes a upgrade kit for the SST, but its $4k plus labor. Not worth it IMO.

Are any of the dealerships in Atlanta mod friendly with the warranty? At most I would do a turboback, intake and tune, so im not that worried. Just heard Mitsubishi dealers were bad about voicing warranty.

I've never had personal experience with Mitsu's warranty, but I've always heard bad things. Most dealers will void your warranty once they see aftermarket parts.

Psh, you can't even get the ONE mitsu dealership in the home town of the Vols to even carry the Evo.

Welcome aboard and good luck with your search!
