Considering Buying a Bank Repo Evo
Considering Buying a Bank Repo Evo
I've got a chance to pick up a 2006 Evo with 100k miles off a bank repo. Car is very clean other than a couple of minor cosmetic issues.
Because it's a repo, I've only been able to visually inspect it, start it, and drive it 10 ft. forward and back. I've worked with these repo folks before, and generally trust them not to hide the ball, but they sell as-is and don't have much knowledge of the vehicles.
No mods on the car. The owner took the stereo and the wing, which is fine with me in both cases since I would have swapped them both off anyway. I would use it as an occasional DD.
Any advice on what it's worth?

I've been watching that one too....curious what it will sell for eventually...
Some repos are a steal, and others are the typical repo vehicle....

A 100K repo'd Evo I wouldn't be too worried about buying. Especially if it was a one owner car.. I'd be more concerned buying a lease return than this Evo. Auctions (dealer auctions particularly) the last few years have been full of cars that are complete roaches! Lots of folks who leased all these cars know when they're gonna have to give them back up to the bank, have completely ignored maintaining their cars. Why put money into something you're gonna be giving up shortly, in face of our current economy? So many cars sold at bank auctions lately are in need of a ton of recon, & who knows what the long-term adverse effects the mechanical negligence will have in the future?
If u can score this IX'er a few grand back of what you'd find elsewhere, I say buy it!
