We as drivers, wife/girlfriend sitting shotgun, kid in the baby Recaro seat in back enjoying the ride.
I was speaking from my MY wifes point of view..(can't drive 5-speed, wants heated seats like her Lexus, etc.) I wasn't trying to imply a "barefoot an in the kitchen" mentality..
Let's face it, women like you are a minority. A WONDERFUL minority mind you but still an extremely small percentage of the EVO owner base..
My wife and most women would be like "huh??!" when they opened up an EVO on Christmas..(Can you say gift exchange for an 04 Lexus RX330?!!)
You on the other hand..

Well, I read this thread with some interest and amusement. Now, the big question is: who are the "older" evo owners?.... Are they those over 20?, or over 30?..... Maybe the line should be drawn at 35?..... 
I'm 27 and my wife is 31. We both love the Evo and it's the best car we've ever driven. Sometimes we play fight over who gets to drive the Evo. =)
I'm thankful to be married to one in the wonderful minority and
I'm thrilled to see that most people that own the Evo are beyond the MTV demographic. Come to think of it, all the other Evo owners I've met are older then I am.

One cool thing I noticed is that so many people who contributed to this thread are not neccessarily "import" guys and gals.. there are alot of former muscle car folks, or german car folks, etc... I like that. I have NEVER been a big fan of Japanese cars or the "import scene". Nothing against them, just not my cup of tea. Always liked and driven VW and Porsches... old to new... But the Evo just captured what I was always looking for in those cars. Fun, Raw, Real, Fast, Wicked Handling, smiles to the gallon.... I just love the rawness of it. I always liked my old 914 in all its slow glory... it was raw and fun.... and the Evo gives that same feel in a modern car with kickass performance... but still raw and edgy. It gives me what I always wanted from all the other cars, but couldn't get it exactly right... the Evo does it RIGHT.
Glad to see so many non-import-guys enjoying the Evo like I am.

I'am 27 have the apex silver love it to death bought it for my wife 5 months ago she's yet to drive it I just can't seem to get out of the car. Our 5 year year old daughter also loves the car. She refers to the car as the fast car with a stickshift. Maybe just maybe I'll give it over on second thought she can just keep driving my old vw.
