Right, so maf with a recirculated setup is fine until you get into big power

Lots of people on here run big HP with maf. A vta with maf is bad because the ecu reads the volume of the air coming through the maf and adds the right amount of fuel. Venting the air will cause rich conditions because there is more fuel in the mix than air. With sd you can put a nice catch can in that corner where the maf was. I've seen some pretty sweet setups on here.

The more you change how the EVO works the less it is an Evo. Keep it simple. Keep the twin Scroll. Most of you will never need more than a Red sized turbo.

My car runs much better on SD then it ever did on MAF(modded)

If your modding your evo, id suggest switching to SD at some point. Its so easy and cheap, i dont see why you wouldnt

Only downside that has ever been mentioned has been already proven to be a non issue:

Drastic changes in altitude

Disadvantages to SD: Knowing someone who can do it unless you know how to do it yourself. I have seen so many professional tuners who have no clue what they are doing with SD.

Other than that I see no disadvantages.

Advantages on stock turbo: Limitless intake setups. I made just a little bit more power with my custom setup but I feel like it was only from my intake design. I modified the stock airbox to allow for a cone filter to force air into it and not just bringing in engine bay heat.
