Ok so here's the problem I'm having on my so called Evo4
its the walbro 255lph fuel pump i installed...any of you who did the same conversion
as i did i need some assitance bad! or maybe even from someone who knows alot about fuel pumps.

I installed the walbro pump, i crank the car but after awhile it'll die...
i was wondering if i have a bad voltage going to the pump maybe?
Because the ground wire from the fuel pump harness gets hot after awhile i gas the pedal to try and keep the car idle alive for like 20secs
Another reason i thought was can it be my wiring harness is bad? because i can see
the ground wiring being a little burnt up where the pin is at (it came like that when i bought it)
the Evo 4 fuel pump harness actually has 2 black ground wire one being thick and the other small and then splices into eachother after 2 foot.

So Should I...
1) Replace the fuelpump wire harness?
2) Ground the 2 black ground wire seperately?

I would possible ground them separately and go with a thicker wire. Sounds like your getting to much amperage/current going through the wire causing them to get hot and shutting the fuel pump off.

Both the fuelpump wire (black/blue) and thick ground wire (black) was rewired from the previous owner to a super thick guage for some reason so i end up rewiring it to a more standard size guage. But it seems like it still didnt solve the problem, i fired up the car its still does the same its struggling to stay at steady idle and dies.
Like i said before the fuelpump harness has 2 black ground wires, One thing i found out today is that the small black wire is the one that is getting HOT when i tried gasing and keep the engine running.

(I didnt end up grounding the 2 black ground wires seperately because it seems like thats how it comes factory wired)

Any other help out there? If whoever owns an Evo 4 or Evo 5 can you possibly help me take a quick picture of your harness on the fuel tank I'd be really thankful

welcome! I would love to see pics of your rides!

In regards to your fuel pump problem, I remember reading something on one of the mirage/evo swap threads where the owner had to re-wire the fuel pump harness. I'll dig it up and post it here for your reference.

Had an issue getting it started. The fuel pump wasn't getting power. After checking both fuel pump relays and the body harness, they both had power. Apparently the fuel tank harness for the Evo5 shares the same connector as the Mirage body harness, but the fuel pump power wire is ran seperately and isn't pinned to the correct connector. Couple hours later and the car fired right up.

I would check that out.

Thanks Robin651, I have also read that post before but it seems like he already sold the car a while back. I'm not sure if he would still be able to help but i WILL ask him anyways.
And as for uploading pictures i would love to show it but unfortunately i have no computer!
Unless theres a way i can upload it off my iphone? because my phone have tons of pics of my project...you think its possible to upload pics using my phone or no?
