Water and intakes have always been a huge concern for a lot of owners for intakes. Hydrolocking is something that always gets brought up in debates. Even though I know is some cases it happens, the filter element would have to be submerged in water in order for it to do any sort of major damage.

The fact that this concerns you, you should leave the sheild on for your piece of mine. But hydrolocking shouldn't be a concern.

In regards, to voiding warranty, your dealer would have to show direct correlation that our intake system was the cause of the malfuction or defect. Injen systems are all 50 state carb approved or are currently undergoing the process. With that in mind, we develop the system to be the best engineered piece possible.

The thread starter wasn't fifty it was someone else talking about the splashguard, but yes leave it in. keeps your filter cleaner. Everyone is so worried about puddles just stay out of the curb lanes if possible always watch the people in front of you going through the puddle to see how deep it is. Maybe think about getting a lift kit.
