First Post?

Hey guys I just bought an evo IX MR a few weeks ago, unfortunately I had it for about 5 days and had to take it to a shop (Took it to House of Power because some friends recommended Grant) while he was doing his thing he found some alarming things like the tubro compressor nut has come off and proceeded to eat the turbo, and nicely deposit those metal pieces right into the engine! Anyway I'm glad I finally have an evo (sort of)

Apparently the dealership went to TurboTrix to get all of the work done before I got it because it was modified and they wanted it stock, has anybody heard anything about TurboTrix? Apparently they want to take it back to him to fix.

Help a n00b out?

Hi!

Welcome to your first post. It doesn't take much play in the compressor wheel for it to attempt to port the housing. Concerning repair shops, I suggest you post a thread in the regional NE forum for a recommendation as I assume you are in the NJ area. Good luck!

You're in York with an Evo and not taking it to CBRD? I don't have any experience with TurboTrix, but I'd see if they'll let you take it to Chad for repairs.

I'd have them check inside the engine to make sure any of those shaving didn't do any damage too

I was going to take my car to CBRD but I got some quotes from them, and they charge 120 an hour for labor, now don't get me wrong, I'm willing to pay for quality, but I got some recommendations from some car guys I work with and they suggested Grant at House of Power so I figured why not try it out for 60 an hour for labor and so far he's been awesome, I'm not sure anybody has had experience with TurboTrix, which is terrifying, haha

Honestly I've never heard of House of Power until today lol. I do see on their FB page that they deal with CBRD some, so they can't be all bad! Even so, for Evo issues, you'd be hard pressed to find a better shop than CBRD.

Our labor rate isnt cheap- but that is a listed hourly rate- depending on jobs- that is adjusted accordingly

however- I think our reputation speaks for itself-

we generally have 10-12 evo's here at a time!
