this should be in the FI forum but newayz... the 247 hp supercharger only gives you about 222whp thats what rippmods has said... the turbo stage 2 gives you about the same... stage 1 turbo can get you 200whp if you have the correct mods and what not

Do you mean how much quicker your car would go 0-60? Or what would be your peak MPH numbers?

In any case.

Superchargers use power to gain power, but there is virtually no lag.

Turbos use exhaust gas to spin the turbine, more lag.

Supercharged would win hands down.

How do you figure this?? I could tone down my boost and be in the same hp/tq range of the supercharger and beat it...

1) I'll be boosting 9psi around 3k rpm... the supercharger won't see that till around 5k...

2) My low end torque is higher than the SC as i don't have a parasitic loss occuring like the SC does.

3) My powerband is about twice as long as the SC's.

To say that the super COULD win is true... to say that it would win hands down is FALSE.

Totally agree. But he's also talking about 200HP turbo, compared to a 247HP Supercharger. Where those figures are coming from I have no idea. Again I am totally with you.

Not to mention SC is parasitic to the engine, while Turbo is not.

The RIPP site posts a few different numbers... 247/222 one is crank i believe and the other wheel hp. Seems a little off but Ripp posted the car as producing 222whp at 11psi.

Many RRM guys have hit the 200whp with the intercooled setup for manuals at only 7psi.

Thats were he's getting his numbers from. The SC right now seems to have more power for the dollar but it's power band is not as good. I'm waiting to get one on the track verses a turbo'd to see which is trully the faster. I'd like to see a RRM turbo at 7psi intercooled verses a RIPP SC at 11psi. I'm betting it will be very close due to the power bands. At 10psi i know i'll stomp the SC setup as my powerband is better and i'm putting over 230whp/240wtq down.
