Is MR worth it?

A week after pulling out my evo out of the dealership, my buddy told me soon he will get his pre-ordered 05 MR through the dealership he's workng for for $33000 Drive out. I spent $26k on mine w/900 miles. Nearly $7000 differences start making me wondering if these new features are worth of the money:

ACD + AYC ? I'm not I won't use that feature unless I'm running on a track circuit

Aluminum top w/no runroof? I personally would prefer having sunroof than having extra pounds off

6 Speed manual transmission? One of the reasons I got evo instead of the STI, too many shift.

Engine HP approx. 6hp increase? 9hp torque?

Now as far as the MR headlights and taillights, we can always replace them if you want, I personally preferr stock. Those are just my personal opinions, feel free to post yours, definitely no offense for those who love the MR. Trust me if I had the money to spend, I will always buy the latest version, but in reality $7000 is alot of money. If you drop $7 grand cash on a 03 evo in mods (non mr version) wonder how would that run in 1/4 mile?

$33k sounds low however, I'd say it is worth it.

I'd say it definitly is worth it, lighter weight, better handling, and more power for under $35K is awesome. Believe me you won't regret the 6 speed. Please don't do the well if I drop $7k worth of mods theory, sounds like the freaking the SRT-4 community.

I don't live in America or know much about your Evolution VIII's but from what I have read on the forum when the Evolution VIII was first released most were selling for around $30,000? Now that it has been out for a while and a new model is on the way they are getting cheaper, also you say your car has 900miles. I am sure an MR in the same situation would be less than $33,000, if that is what it is selling for now.

The MR also has upgraded suspension wheels tires weight reduction special edition paint job etc. I would say all those things are worth the difference however you will be extremely lucky to get out the door under 35k on that car and the dealer wont be very willing to deal as this will be a special edition car in very high demand.

I think the MR is definitely worth it, especially if you want the upgraded suspension, turbo and 6-spd tranny. Plus it's all covered by the warranty. There is no way that an MR can be had for $33K... especially since this is the first year that the MR is available in the states... the dealer pretty much controls the price on the car, and I doubt that they'd let it go for $33K.
