MR MSRP = $35,986 per my dealer
Yeah, although I still think I will go Evo, I'm having a much harder time convincing myself it's worth it. My mod goals are reasonable on both cars (trap = 120), and I've got everything for the STi already, in effect (manifold, TBE, gauges, boost control, cusco 02R's, etc.). The fact that the cuscos wont fit is affecting me somewhat, perhaps.
I'm actually considering the Evo based on things like the superior seats, leather and sunroof..I put serious miles on my car (5k a month), so the comfort of the travel matters. I never use cruise control, so that's not a loss for me, and the steering response I can grow to love on long trips, I suppose.

I think the MRs will still sell out - but the Sti looks like a better value.

Basically, they are stand up. They won't bargain with you, they don't BS. They sell below MSRP on STi's and others, and they move ALOT of them. They have in-house 4 wheel dyno facilities, are an EcuTek tuner, APS vendor, etc. and they cover that stuff under warranty.

Through Edmunds and Autotrader, I found an ad from Manchester (NH) Mitsubishi that states that they will not price gouge their customers, even the EVO MR models are sold at MSRP only, with no additional mark up. The ad says they're getting 18 2005 Evos (mixed). No, I don't work for them, I'm just trying to help some of you find a good dealer.

Thats a ripp off.Taxes and insurace will kill ya.5 G's in mods and You're all set.I had a chance to see REAL MR back in Europe and I know this is most likely about cosmetic detail (tailights, headliths ,seats etc.),but 35 G's is just way to much.
In Japan MR costs 28000 eur = 36000usd

Wait a few months for the price of the MR to come down and the dealers more willing to work with the invoice price.
Same thing happened for the STi and the Evo when they first came out.
You can also wait a few months for some people to realize that the MR is too expensive for them and you can buy them slightly used for a much cheaper price.
Lots of Evos for sale due to people overestimating their finances.

First of all my wife drives an '03 GSR almost every day for her commute which means most of my seat time is in my S2000. That alone isn't horrible but I love the Evolution as much as the S2k.
Second, I'm currently in the market for a new car. I'm now asking myself if it would be silly to have two Evolutions in the family and almost every time I answer NO.
While the STi and WRX are less expensive and seemingly better values, I find myself hard pressed to consider them. I'd rather spend my 30-35k on a car that'll give me a more true driving experience. I'll sacrifice a little plushness, a little everyday driveability, and a little straight line quickness for the Evolution RS/GSR. I might even spend an extra 5k for the MR. It's very close right now.
