It is the the moulding on the outside. There are plastic clips that rub up against the window. Which make that creaking sound. There really are no pics from the TSB. There are a couple pics on it, but none that are real descriptive. Not really worth posting.

The TSB says it should take a half an hour - wait for it

guys i fixed my squeek in 1 min. The molding on the outside of the passenger side of the windshield at the bottom pulls up and down and makes that squeek noise. There is a yellow plastic clip that rubs the edge of the glass. I jus simply took a piece of paper, ripped a tiny piece off, folded it, then shoved it between the glass edge and the yellow clip. Guess what no more noise! Im goining to make a more permanent fix but for the past 3 days its been working.

I got the rattling noise from the passenger side A-pillar, but it only happens when i hit expansion joints. There is also a slight rattle coming what sounds from the rear window or trunk area, sounds like cable is hitting something sound.

How about the rear windshield rattle? Is there a tsb on that too? My MR rattles from the rear window and the speakers rattle too. Thanks for the front windshield tsb info!

About your brake noises -

higher performance pads usually squeal with light pedal pressure. This is not a defect. I'm Using "Hawk HP Plus" and they do the exact same thing on my Sentra. Same for my friend's GSR with Hawk HP plus as well, squeals with light pressure. Someone suggested cleaning helps.

Saddistically - I actually like to hear the noise now - tells me I have high performance friction material.

If I use the milder Hawk street pads - I don't get this noise.

This could have already been mentioned i didnt bother reading through 11 pages. However yesterday I had my windshield replaced in my 03 EVO and the installer pointed out that when the windshield is installed from the factory they dont use a steady stream calk gun. they instead use one that is hand pumped so that your calk has all kinds of little ripples in it. he said this can cause noise or hell for it to even leak. according to him the DOT is currently looking into the issue with Mitsu because they do this on all there cars and it might be a recall. Mitsu is there number one complaint right now and he said the fixes more of those than any other manufacturer because of the calk issue and the fact I guess they are prone to rock cracking.

just a thought...

Ya I know I don't have an Evo, but I noticed during cold winter mornings here in Chicago, there's a noise/rattling noise coming from the back of my car, maybe it's from the windshield too. It goes away once the interior of the car is warmed up.

1 Test drive to verify noise is coming from A pillar area
2 use a soft trim stick to remove the side windshield moulding from the cowl trim - do not remove the cowl trim for this procedure
3 obtain adhesive-backed thin felt material from BSR kit (MR991752) Cut six felt pieces, approx 70 mm x 5 mm
4 Remove the liner from the back of the felt pieces. Affix the felt on the inner clips. Affix one felt piece to each of the three inner clips Repear on the other side.
5 Be sure that the outer moulding clips (four on each side) are securely attached to the body retension stud. IF the clips are not properly attached, noise may result
6 Reinstall the windshield side moulding
7 test drive to verify the noise is eliminated.

Takes .4 hrs to do - I recommend everyone with the creak to it asap - I feel like the car has been born again - I didn't realize how much that creak annoyed me!!
Does anyone know where exactly this fix is to be applied. I believe I have this rattle and if possible, I rather do the fix myself than to take it into the dealer. Thanks.

Great post...

I have a new RS 9 and it has the dreaded windsheild rattle. I'm gonna try fixin it myself. Thanks to all that posted the TSB... Hope it works. That was my intial thought what was causing the problem. When i touched it, it felt loose.

Anyone by chance have any pics?
