What could it be?

posted by chris from cali on dc evo club site:
Evo IX in my future?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've heard some REALLY interesting news about the Evo IX, but unfortunately I can't disclose it. After the New York Auto Show, all the details will be known.

Let's put it this way: I am thinking of foregoing my beloved Skyline GT-R (next version) for the Evo IX... It'll be that hot.

What a tease , I wonder what it could be

Well unless they bring something completely different for the US evo 9. I'm not sure what he could be talking about. Maybe the rumored bump in displacement and S-AYC?

What's so special about AYC? I really don't see what makes it so much better than an LSD.

the ayc will help you take corners better than lsd

my take on ayc is that
torque will be applied to wheel that needs in the most. instead of lsd where one wheel would get nothing

Active Yaw Control=AYC not ACD=active center diff. I think thats what your getting at. The JDM and Euro cars have SAYC and ACD.

I would think the price would have to be competive with the sti..

One thing I saw said that mits. has really shown all their cards for the evo and that subie. stills has alot to bring to the U.S. for the sti.

Things are very quiet on the STi front at the moment. Given that the base '06 WRX will now sport a 2.5L turbocharged engine, there's a distinct possibility that the STi will reap some kind of power gain to differentiate it from the WRX.

Don't forget the WRX WR. Subaru is upping the competition.

I was getting at the fact that AYC does pretty much the same thing as an LSD.
