The reason most quoted for AYC not being included on USDM Evos thus far is that the AYC fluid canister is located where the emissions required charcoal filter is on US Evos. Thus they would have to redesign where to put it and that cost was more than it was worth as a selling point. Since the Evo X is essentially a clean sheet design with USDM considerations from the beginning, S-AYC or its replacement should be available here.

Warranty concerns may have been considered too.

They said something like that about the ACD too, but look at that, we have it now. They could fit it in, but they want to half *** us. Look at every car imported into the U.S. from Japan and you will see why people are JDM crazy: because they get all the cool stuff. They're still angry about the big 'un

What I'm curious of is if AYC is button activated? Is it similar to the STI's where they can just hit that button to send more power to rear wheels?

No, - the AYC controls Left / Right automatically interrelating with all other computers, and sending power to the wheel on the side that needs it most.

ACD - controls front / back at one or 3 varying rates.
