Death of the EVO!!!
The fact your comparing a dual clutch setup NO-ONE in the public has driven to a CVT that is selecting ratios (not even actual gears) to give the feel of shifting shows you have no clue.
sad to hear this, my opinion they should have left it manual only. trying to appeal to older crowds and what not will no doubt ruin their rep. they might turn into another toyota or buick.
I think they went way beyond their futuristic concep but you gotta understand that sometimes somebody has to take the first step and experiment new stuff. Maybe when the first evo 2.0 turbo 4X4 came out all the people said come on it's just a 2.0 and it wont be fast so everybody started building like subarus 2.5 lt and stuff and SRT4 and whatever but EVos with their 2.0 lt can prove that Mitsubishi posses more technology and better engineers. In the end they managed to get out almosst all the potential they could from a 2.0 engine. Maybe this transmission is a leap forward to better 1/4 times and perhaps it may be a stronger mechanism than the standard tranny.. just my 2 cents
PS I don't think mitsubishi is going to put crappy technologies into this new evo cause they got to maintain their reputation and keep nailing the competition....

You can't stop progress. DSGs and other variants of the clutchless manuals are here to stay.
I wonder if car "enthusiasts" were having these same pointless arguments back when synchros were being introduced into road car transmissions. Let's face it, syncro-ed cars are easier and quicker to drive, but they take less "skill". So I guess purists would've been outraged then too. Today, I don't think a single one of you will be happy with a synchro-less transmission in your daily driver.
Same thing, DSGs represent the next evolution of the transmission. They're provably faster, safer and easier to drive. Let's get with the program instead of being stuck in the 20th Century, OK?

**** that, as much as I love shifting my own gears, I'd never have to replace a clutch again!! no more notchy shifting or pedal adjustments. Can I get this on the VIII PLEASE!!??

Good one.
