You haven't busted my bubble. You can make unsubstantiated assertions all day long, and I won't be convinced. If really want to convince people that those brands are on a different level, you have to get specific and provide evidence for your claims.

Granted: BMW, Lamborghini, Ferrari, and others are on a different level...price wise.

Contested: Any of those brands are measurably more reliable than , or that any of their mass-produced models have better build quality.

Granted: A $170k Ferrari is more sophisticated than an Evo and outperforms an Evo. And the transmission is more sophisticated than the one that'll be in the Evo X.

Contested: A $35k BMW, Lamborghini, or Ferrari would be superior to an Evo.

Granted: Comparing Evos to cars costing twice as much should only done to demonstrate the Evos' price/performance, not their overall superiority.

Contested: Cars costing twice as much or more than Evos are so obviously superior that comparing them to Evos is ridiculous and insulting.

Well I agree mostly what you have to say. Yes just because a car costs more doesnt declare thats it it better. BMW, Lambo, Ferrari and the others that were mentioned are more successful companies and are able to perform much more R&D on there products. I bet that BMW, Lambo, or Ferrari if they had a 35k sports car wouldnt be no better possibly, but the point is none of those companies produce a sportscar in that pricerange so there is no point comparing the two. This is mitsubishi's real first shot at putting a DSG in a car I believe, and I doubt that it will perform like those other mentioned cars that designed this type of transmission. As far as build quality and sophistication in components, its not my assertions that they are built better, its proof just go read about them. I go could go on for 2 pages to give examples but this isnt my thread so basically look at how a 10yr old BMW M3 drives and the reliability and then come back and see how a Evo drives in 10yrs. and what has been done to it to keep it going. I love Evo's and I am looking forward to mine here soon but I will never compare the build quality to Audi, BMW, Lambo for that matter, its a totally different ballgame. Those makers put things in there cars that Mitsu wont do for another 10yrs so I dount that Mitsu's DSG is going to be as good as the other mentioned cars that have had much more experience with that type of transmission. I mean we aint going to get a Ferrari DSG that shifts at mach 2 like people want to believe. Me personally, I dont think its going to be a big hit. Most Evo owners like to modify their car and put aftermarket parts on it. How fun is it going to be to mod a VERY expensive transmission that I doubt will be much faster or reliable?

well put, lets compare apples to apples,

a full brake job on an evo also doesnt cost 16,000USD or some **** like that,

the new 335i was recently tested against the new infinity coupe G37, and it overheated or something to that effect, i remember my fathers buddy bought a 525 in 1989 and had to get head gasket changed at 2K, one of the magazines has a 3 series BMW as their test car and had to do a huge valvetrain rebuild only after several thousand miles

and then these 2-3-4-500K cars come with 12month/1 year or slightly longer warranties, why if they are so much superior to evo?

at least Mitsu give a 10year/100K warranty on their drivetrain

The only experience I have with paddle shifters is in a G35, and they suck. You might as well get an auto if you use paddle shifters.

don't know if this has been pointed out, that there will be a 6-speed AMT w/ paddle shifters and traditional MTX.

It was stated in the prototype-X video. http://www.lancerproject.com/lancer/

it does have 2 clutches inside the trans, but they're wet (soaked in oil) however it shifts extremly fast, like you never could with the manual

DSGs, (direct shift gearboxes) though technically superior to manual transmissions due to their more efficient performance, just don't seem as much fun. I like rev-matching, and pathetically attempting to heel-toe downshift. I like revving at a stop-light. I like that not every anus with $ can even drive a manual. I LIKE THE CONTROL!!!

For those of you who wish to learn more about DSG technology click this informative link:

Manual for me, unless I'm racing the thing.

With the paddle shifters you can focus more on going fast. Manually shifting gears is a waste of time in racing conditions which results in slower and less consistent lap times. DSG for the win.
