My guess is that it will be a red variant judging by previous releases.

The front end looks like a 4x4...badly needs a drop, or the 20s the concept had.

it looks good...can't wait for it to come out here. would be hilarious though if the usdm version comes out with freakin' chrome headlights/tail lights just like the evo 8 did...

In the press release, it states, "The engine hood air outlet and fender vents effectively exhaust heat from the engine compartment. Together with the engine hood air scoop that supplies cooling air to the turbocharger these elements give vivid accent to Evolution X's exterior looks."

so the vents are functional?

they should really fix the 18" front 17" rear rotors

So, there is NO MR trim at all ?? only the GSR with optional package like performance package or SST tranny ??

How is that nitpicking? I love this car and have every intention of buying one, I'm as far from an EVO X hater as you could be...but it looks high, especially on 18" wheels. Look at the front end on the grey model pictured...

Decent drive test review on C&D already. http://www.caranddriver.com/previews...gsr.html?al=92

Seems like it loses a lot in the straight to the VIII, but gains it everywhere else. This car isn't meant for a drag strip, so if you judge it by that, then I'll laugh at you over the internet Still, the test they did was not comprehensive enough to say either way. I say, let The Stig give it a go

You know what I realized, when they posted that the evo X was faster by 2 seconds in the same track run. It wasn't clearly posted that it was a 2 mile track. Think about it.. the Evo was always a great handling fast car all around performer.. And they need to sell this new Evo X as the next best thing.. I bet you if the track was shorter it wouldn't be much of a difference at all. A real test will be left up to the Stig.. on Top Gear or another magazine.. Tests made by mitsu are biased and we all shouldn't buy as face value.

Look at the way the black painted b-pillar window sills meet the red at the top of the window. Reminds me of a toyota echo.

One of the few complaints I have had about the new Lancer platform, glad someone else caught it as well...

Im curious to why they got ride of the guage on the dash? Also the back still looks to mazda like. Flares on the sides would be nice. Im definetly not trading in my evo9, but thinking of trading in my 4g eclipse for the evo X as my DD.

There are so many new people here that don't know squat about the Evo.

To those "tin can" folks, drive a pre-X Evo for yourselves and experience first hand that these cars are anything but that in driving feel. I'd choose the word "solid" or "taut." If one's speaking aesthetically, now that'd be a matter of taste.

To those "17/18-inch brake disc" folks, understand that the USA isn't the only country in this world. There are other ways of sizing things. Japan has its own way: The size corresponds to the minimum size rim that can fit over the brake disc/rotor.

To those that are doing a direct transfer from JDM to USDM, know that the markets have their differences, whether it be with names, specs, options, ect. For instance, our MR is like a JDM GSR.

I'll go out on a nice tree branch that can support my weight and make an educated guess that our RS won't be the barebones stripper model that Japan has, either. It should have Brembos, Recaros, 18" rims. No S-AWC for the USDM RS? I think it could go either way. I think it won't have it. I suspect the X RS's steering and feel will be like the Evos of yesterday, also.

You guys have a lot to learn about Evos, especially the guy that confused the front brakes for MR-specific brakes and the rear brakes as GSR-specific. What's that saying, "You don't know your future until you know your past?" or something like. Well, that applies here.
