Mitsu newbie questions

long time lurker, pretty much made up my mind to get the new evo X next year to replace my leased bimmer. never owned nor driven a mitsu car before, how's it's reliability in general? comparable to toyota and honda? are the material evo X use any different from the regular lancers? how reliable are the mitus' turbos? thanks.

I hope you have a flame suit on. Also, you can search on a lot of this. Also, I would have posted to the Evo General forum for questions on this nature. Good luck.

The new Evo Motor is different than the current 4g63 Motor that the evos use. So I can't really tell you how reliable the engine is. The material is very similar if not the same as the new Lancer. I would say the turbo is as good as they get.... but not sure on the X.

You pretty much made up your mind that you want one, but haven't got the answers to those questions? I think you need to work at buying a car from a different perspective, maybe sit down and say you want certain things, ranked most important and then go after a car that fills that.

I refuse to answer questions from anyone that refers to their car as a "bimmer".

go test drive a iX or Viii see how you like it, then make a choice! You wont be able to test drive an X without a bunch of crap from the dealers

geez, tough crowd, i think i should've posted this in the general mitsu forum. i've always wanted an evo, but the idea of driving stick shift car in L.A. rush hour traffic everyday turned me off. now the fact the new one has the twin clutch sst really play a big role on my decision. i just need some info on the lancer based mitu cars in general? anything i should be looking out to?

there are a lot of reviews for the 2008 lancer out there. interior is nice for the price but don't expect much. it IS an economy car. EVO will have similar interior. you can tell from the pics of the 08 GTS and EVO. really very similar. evo interior materials are said to be hard and prone to scratches? forgot where i read that one, but again that's not why you buy an evo.

reliability? one word: warranty

Its safe to say that the reliability of Mitsu is going to be a couple of notches (at least!) lower than Honda and Toyota which are ranked top tier. Also the materials quality isn't going as top notch as on your "bimmer".

You'd be buying the car for the driving experience and performance above all else...

You'll find that Evos are some of the most reliable performance cars on the road today. The track record speaks for itself. Do a "reliability" or "mileage" search and you'll find many accounts of Evo reliability.

Good luck on your purchase and welcome. This forum isn't always this tough.
