Mark-ups Suck!!!!!
come on guys, we're just trying to get some info. i really think it's messed up that they mark up the car but it's business. just hope that it doesn't blow up in there face. there's why to many cars coming out next year that the evo may not be the top dawg on the street. i mean i still am going to try to get an evo, but i don't know. mark up suck though. specially if your going in with a trade in like i am.
Rican, this is in response to your PM asking me why:
The Evo is tons of fun, don't get me wrong, its a terrific car, and WAY faster than my Porsche and a G37 and a 335i for sure. At least in general terms. And stop reading here if you have no qualms about Mitsubishi... you know... like, the lack of a warranty support. The Evo is the perfect car for you, since the X is likely to be a little more comfortable than the 8 and 9 were. Especially the SST. The X is going to be wonderful, for sure, but it'll still have 3 diamonds on it, and that's enough for me to just say no.
So coming from saying no to Mitsu, the 335i (as long as you are getting the i and not the xi) is the perfect mix, and with 4 yrs/50k miles free service (and yes, even car washes!) 300 hp, well functioning auto-manual with 3 seperate modes (auto, sport, and manumatic). 4 doors, trunk space, nice stereo, pimpin car. And as far as I can tell PLENTY fast for anyone craving Evo speed. Really, its just me, I got tired of the uncomfortable ride in the Evo, driving the 400ish miles to Vegas was a pain in the ***, in the Porsche its a joy. Evo, to me after 3 years, just wasn't the best of daily drivers.
The ONLY reason I didn't get a 335i is because of the snow here, the 335xi seemed underperformed compared to the 335i, the sales person told me it is the suspension, but I think the X drive ruins some of the handling that felt so great in the 335i, so I went with the next best thing IMO. I am not risking having no AWD here, especially with wacky weather like we've had lately.

I see what your saying man. the g37 just doesn't have that pull that a turbo does. i mean 330hp w 270 ft. i like the 4 wheel steering that some of them bring. but of course the interior seems to look a lot better than the X also.
if anyone has driven a g37 let me know what you think about it.
this is all coming from having a 544 whp evo that i sold before going to iraq and now that i'm back nothing that i drive seems to have enough.
that's why i'm trying to get there again.

The G37 is a grandpa who needs a bit of oomph's car. IMO, both it and the G35 are for the midlife crisis man with kids and an onry wife. Not for a sports car enthusiast though, again IMO.
It has pull, really cool pull for a luxury car too, it is so freaking smooth all the way up. 1, 2, 3, 4...296, 297, 298, 300...(and in the case of the G37 insert a few more hp) redline... So nice and cushy, for grandma. No 150, 151, 210, 275, 215 redline like the good ol' Evo... Ah turbo..
BUT, for the price difference compared to the 335i Coupe, all the magazines hit it head on, the G37 is the way to go. What, like 8-10k of savings (the 335i coupes are rediculously priced). Sedan vs sedan there's still a big price jump, but I'd spend the extra few thousand on the BMW over the Infiniti any day.

Why Buy A Marked Up Evo X When Their Are Gonna Be So Many Of Them Produced Way More Than The Evo Viii/ix. Just Wait They Will Have Incentives, Sales Events, $3000 Off Msrp By May 08.
I would get the Evo X. BMW's quality is shaky at best, not that Mitsu is any better though. I don't think the 2 cars are quite in the same category though. Do you want more of a luxury car that is quick or a sports car that has a bit of luxury? If you want luxury, go with a G37 or 335i. If you want a sports car go with the Evo X or the ugly Sti.
BMW likes to cover up stuff just as much as anyone and they don't back their warranties that good either. I am having a hell of a time getting the faulty MAF in my car covered under warranty without paying the dealership a bunch of money for diagnostic work. Then they will only replace it under warranty if it throws one specific code, even though they admit it may throw different codes. Yeah, they extended the warranty on the MAF to 7/70, but they covered their butt by putting a lot of restrictions on it. The won't even admit to the problems of the M3's and Z3's trunk floors ripping right out of the car. For the money they are just not worth it to a sporty driver, for someone just driving normal and wants the snob appeal, they are fine.
