Future suggestions for the EVO XI
#1- I would like for Mitsubishi to do away with the 5-speed manual and a 6-Speed manual should be come standard. I think the SST is a sweet idea (even though i have some concerns about its tuning potential) and would like it to remain. But a 5-Speed in 2010 or 2011 is just ancient, and a 6-speed manual should be standard.
#2- I would like to see a bigger engine in the EVO XI. No Mitsubishi, that doesn't mean turn it into a f*cken NA 6-Cylinder like they did with the Eclipse, but a 2.4L to 2.6L would do wonders for low end power and torque.
#3- Even more power and a bigger turbo.
#4- Last thing, is something I wish Mitsubishi would have done for a long time. I wish the MR better differentiated itself from the GSR and RS models. I mean I wish the MR was to the EVO line up what the M-Series is to the BMW line up. I would love to see the MR have even more power, I think with the bigger engine and a 20G turbo it would be awesome. I would love to see the EVO XI MR become a true M3 killer. With atleast 430hp and more aggresive styling and price tag around $50,000 the MR would add more excitement to the entire EVO XI line up.
#5- Ok this is the last thing, I am ok with the EVO X gaining weight from the EVO IX. It is brand new chassis and these things happend, but I will find any dramatic weight gains from the EVO X to the EVO XI completely unacceptable. Seriously I know Mitsubishi engineers make the equivelent of 6 figure incomes in Japan and with the money they are paid these muthaf*ckers better find ways to keep the weight down.
So what would you suggest? You never know, maybe Mitsubishi employees read this and your ideas become part of the EVO XI.

2) Buy an STi then. 2.5l does wonders for low end grunt, I love it.
I doubt Mitsu will go away from 2.0... BUT, someone did post a thread just recently about Mitsu making the Evo XI an electric/gas hybrid... Which would give TONS of low end oomph. If they do go through with that, it could be pretty amazing even with the same max hp as the X. But I definitely agree with staying away from the damn V6 untunable nonsense they did in the Eclipse.3) That's a given, though a bigger turbo means less low-end grunt... unless they do something to support it (like the electric motor).
4) Completely NO. The MR is not the High Performance model. The MR is (and 2010 has proved it even more with the available package) the Touring model. The model you take the kids to school in and drop grandma off at the airport. It should be differenciated, but not faster and sportier, but more luxurious... Maybe something like the adaptive suspension like the R8 has, for starters. Leather should be standard, and come with fairly adjustable memory power heated seats. Heated side mirrors is a nice option too, and in luxury world more cars are getting that option. Loved it on the Porsche. I could go on here, but you get the idea.
5) Agree here too, the jump up in weight is insane. That should be one of their big priorities even for the future models of the X... Get it back under 3400 lbs please.
And my own: Start building more and more confidence with current new Evo owners by denying fewer warranty claims... If the XI comes out and interests me (it probably will) the first thing I'm going to look at is how Mitsu has been with the X on warranty work. I left Mitsu partially because of my own personal fear of warranty problems with the VIII and IX.
making this car up to $50,000 is just to much in my view. Evos are well known as a nice good looking sports car that everyone can afford i don't want it over $40g

i do agree with your evos should have bigger motors.. i understand mitsu has kept the 2.0l due to rally regulations, but i think mitsu should do what subi is doing, subi has the imprezza, our lancer, a wrx, our new ralliarts, stis and evos.. wrxs have 2l motors with about 220 hp factory, pretty close to a ralliart. however STIs have a 2.5l motor, where evos still have 2ls. ive thought that ever sence the new awd turbo ralliart cameout
I REALLY HOPE YOU GUYS KNOW THAT THE NEXT EVO IS COMING 2013 AND IS A HYBRID!!!!!! THIS IS 100% TRUE BY THE WAY FOR YOU WHO DONT BELIEVE ME READ LINK BELOW. PREPARE TO CRY!!!!

Personally:
The Evo has always been a lightweight 4-door fighter, with great midrange response. Top end is sometimes lacking, but I always liked its ability to shoot out of a corner.
1. Gas/Electric vs. Diesel/Electric (and displacement)
Rumors that the 2013 Evo XI will be a hybrid have led me to this peculiar problem, what type of ICE to mate to the electric motor? Diesel/Electric would have tremendous pull and would make the car a great AutoX'er. Gas/Electric would be a nice compromise and will lend itself better to the larger road courses. I personally believe a 2.2L engine mated with a electric drivetrain would be the best combination.
2. Trim Lines with no options except as stated below, Manual or TC-SST option for all trimlines
There needs to be 4, IMHO.
1. RS - No anything, windup windows, no radio, no A/C, cloth seats, no sound deadening, engine, suspension, tires
2. GSR or Base - 50% sound deadening, seat options, navi option, no packages
3. MR or Luxury - 100% sound deadening, leather everything, etc.
4. Ralliart for Performance - No sunroof, aluminum/CF as much as possible, performance accessories and upgrades, navi option, vortex generator options, wing options, weight reduction options (100%,50%,0%), i.e. start it off on a performance basis, and make it easy to tune and modify
3. Make the Lan Evo XI Ralliart Edition a bonafide M3, RS4, STi, whatever else in that class killer.
4. Try to return the base to 3200 lbs.
