Time to me to head to Cypress tomorrow to go snooping around. I'm sure everyone remembers my blue spy pix about a year and a half ago. Time for a sequel!!

That's awesome guys! Let's hope the black isn't replacing the gray purple mica... and that the headlights and tailights will be blackened out. At least we have confirmation of the Bilstein shocks.

Could be a tester. It does have the Bilstein yellow shock and the BBS wheel.

Alright guys, heres the deal. Obviously this car is a test car because it was outside the Mitsu R&D building in Ann Arbor and has manufacturer plates. It did have the gravel, tarmac and snow option on the speedo, will take pictures of it if i have time. I know its there because i looked for it. I didn't bother to look at the diffs, might do it today. Its not uncommon in Ann Arbor to see these prototypes running around. Almost every car manufacturer has a testing facility here since the EPA testing is done in Ann Arbor. I took one of the first pictures of the FED Elise and the Nissan 350Z track edition. Of course it helps alot that Car and Driver and Automobile Magazine are also located in Ann Arbor. As far as the the car in the pictures, i believe that it is the US version of the EVO MR. Its very rare that Japanese cars, or German for that matter, come to the US market looking exactly like they do in their respective domestic markets.

All the disbelievers are making a big deal about the lights, but keep in mind that the US-spec Evo has different lights from the rest of the world. Mitsu might have used the same tails and headlights for certification purposes.

Here's an idea for some of you JDM junkies... If the MR comes to the States (which it sure looks like), you could import a JDM car (with ACD and S-AYC) since it will be almost identical to the US one. There are a few places that convert it to LHD.

Ahhh... I wonder if this is "official" enouhg yet, hehe. I hope Mitsu doesn't drop the ball on this one and jip us on the headlight tailights and window tinting.

Other than the rims, what made you stop and take a closer look? that looks like a pretty typical black Evo from a distance.

The anticiaption grows....

I think Chris had the best idea: Sell those pics! That's the automotive equivilant of getting pics of Brittany Spears kissing Brad Pitt on the beach! Get some of the dash and shifter... Also my "BS call" on the first page wasn't that... I was just curious why you had said you "thought" you saw an MR... now it makes sense!

I thought I didn't need to wait for the MR, but now that I see these, I'm almost wishing I waited. Great photos.
