All '05s will have the ACD, and the front LSD. I can't remember if they'll all have the six speed or not. I do not know what else the MR would offer over the regular Evo other then the aluminum roof if not for the tranny and of course the special color. Power figures get a bump for the regular Evo to the 276/280 figure, but I didn't hear what the MR would be. very exciting though.

Man I'm confused. So when can we expect the regular '05 Evos to come out? I thought I was doing a good job keeping track, but I never even noticed the '04's come out, all I see left at dealer are old '03's.

And no I'm not asking about the MR, since everyone seems to have their own different guess as to when that's supposed to be coming out.

C'mon do you really expect us to believe this when the 2004 models haven't even come out yet? I think you are confused here. You must be confusing the 2003 model with the 2004. The only way that a 2005 model is coming out in the near future would be if they skip the 2004 model year all together.

The thing that I find myself asking myself (damn that sounds convoluted already) is this: Would upgrading my stock Evo VIII with a custom tuned suspension from RRE make it out-hustle the RS and MR on a track? I'm thinking that it probably would, thus negating much of the hype of the MR IMO

I believe that this is a test mule. Test mules are supposed to be non-descript and should not stand out. Porsche did this with the Carrera GT. Their test mule had a body of a stretched Ferrari 348. Second you can notice on the up close pic of the tire that this car had been under harsh acceleration and deceleration because the tire is slightly blue on the sidewall.

Seeing the hack job on the 6 speed...

to make it fit in a stock Evo 8 gives me hope that I can do that to my Evo when that 6 spd tranny is available. Looks like a good fit!

What is all the hype about 6 speed tranny? I bet you will never put it in 6th unless you are taking a long drive.

I might not be an expert, and to some of you this might be a toutchy issue, I think these were bolt-ons on to a US Evo, the only thing major is the transmition swap, and I heard of guy on the forum that did it, this car has been driven around the streets for over a year (telling by the rust from snow).... by looking at pictures of the real MR from the UK, this is not an MR . I personaly can't wait till it get here.

I didn't want to be "that guy" but did anyone see if this car has cruise control? And all you guys saying this is just a '03 Evo with a 6spd and ACD...all you need to do is try and stick a magnent to the roof...if it doesn't stick then it's aluminum. Also, the '04 Evo's ARE on the lots in Northen VA and I can't imagine we were the first.

Where is the Vortex Generator? The wheels are not the same as the MR tested in Motor Trends new magazine, Speed. I am not sure though, it does have the ACD switch I am still skeptical though, teh MR its do out until the fall.

I know that there has been ZERO talk of this, and this is pure conjecture at this point (I apologize ahead of time), but what if Mitsubishi skips the '04 year on the Evo and goes directly to '05? I mean, we're almost 6 months into 2004 and still no '04 Evos. Last year, the '03 came out in Feb/March. I have this weird feeling that there may not be any '04 Evos---just straight to '05. But then again, I could be smoking crack. Who knows.

There are '04's. Just very few, they've already been built long ago and they've already ceased production on them. I can't imagine California not already having them, especially if someone in Virginia has seen one. I won't be getting one until next month, and I do mean ONE.

I wonder if this MR test mule has a vin #. We could run the numbers through an insurance co. for options, right? Unfortunately, test mules usually get crushed instead of being sold or shipped back.
