Evolution MR - Mitsubishi Racing [MERGED]
[QUOTE=pjork-master]For all you nay-sayers or it's-not-coming-this-year-sayers...
Just spoke with the Rep from the Mitsu dealer outside of Cleveland (they are the ones selling the '04 Evo GSR on Ebay) who informed me that MMC is bringing the MR sooner than later and that they have already started production for LHD Evo MRs for the U.S.
Nice - I've been waiting for 4 years for this. I think the time has come to step out of the shadows and pounce. Patience does pay.

Don't sit here patting yourself on the back because you are selling the car at MSRP. Anyone who pays MSRP or higher for a car is a fool.
MSRP + $10,000 dealer mark up = your price $40,000.
Its all about demand and supply.
the last new vehicle I bought, a ford explorer, I paid Invoice cost on the vehicle and cost on the options + tax & tag, with NO dealer fee.
For a hot new release you are lucky to get MSRP if you are buying from the first batch.
PS: why are you so angry?! ... and congrats on that new Evo, too bad you didn't hold out just a little longer.

1629 total Evos sold in Jan, Feb, Mar, and Apr of 2004
1027 total Evos sold in Feb (just a few sold near the end of the month), Mar, and Apr of 2003. You still need to include all the other months in 2003... so alot more than 2656 Evos have been sold since it's debut.

The icing? He said that there's a boat with USDM LHD Evo MRs on their way... and maybe here as soon as 1wk to 1mnth. No one knows.
Why do I believe him? Well they sold over 30 Evos to date.. and they are already selling '04 Evo GSRs.

The ACD (active center differential) distributes the torque more effectively between the front and rear wheels. In a nutshell, the ACD helps this Evo respond more quickly and effectively to changing traction demands and works to optimize tire adhesion in either tarmac, gravel, or snow modes. The new electronic unit enhances steering response and traction. Electronics govern the cover clamp pressure placed on the center differential clutch pack to match driver input and vehicle condition. Under hard acceleration, the ACD is in a near locked state, transmitting the most torque to the road surface for traction. As the driver makes rapid steering inputs, the center diff operates virtually as an open differential to improve the steering response while retaining the 4WD stability.

English 101: "English" is not an incorrect term. It is a term for people from England. More generally, "England" is widely accepted as another term for the United Kingdom. When you say "British" it technically refers to Great Britain (England, Wales, and Scotland), which doesn't include the rest of the United Kingdom, namely, Northern Ireland. (Are there Evos in Northern Ireland?) Maybe everyone in the U.K. outside of England loves S-AYC!
