Have any of you noticed that the gear shifter in the MR is further towards the front of the car (compared to the regular Evo)...Did Mitsu make the shifter linkage shorter?

Hey everyone, as far as colors go the MR will be available in the standard colors and will have an exclusive color..."graphite gray", it looks to be similar to the thunder gray on ralliart lancers. The aluminum roof panel deletes sunroof option. We don't have color specs for the new white or "electric blue" but should have them soon. Once we get them I'll post them to the thread. Any other questions??

That's the million dollar question...best quesstimate is from Sept-Nov for delivery dates. Already taking orders now though so my guess is that the first few most dealers see will be pre-sold. I know there is a lot of interest so the big thing is just to find someone willing to pre-sell one without going over MSRP.

I can wait and it would probably be better, since I am getting married soon. But do you work for a dealer or something? I work for a Subaru dealer, our 05 models are already out, kinda weak changes this year.

Please, people, for the last time. It will have ACD (active center differential). It will come with a fun little button (gravel, tarmac, snow) It will not have AYC (active yaw control). It will have a mechanical rear differential. Thank you.

I now officially get first dibs at my dealer for the first MR. All in writing and signed in blood (not really blood, though I offered to). Yay. Grey Mica goodness in just 4 - 5 months. I will have pricing in 4 - 6 weeks.

For the record, I attempted to persuade the GM for information on option sheets, and he simply doesn't have them. He's not NDA bound, he just doesn't have them. He said he wouldn't mind if I plastered it all over the web anyhow.

As for more powerful than the FQ-340, there can't be much involved in that anyways. The current FQ-330 is just an aggressively programmed supplementary ECU, plus a revised wastegate actuator that raises peak boost to 21psi. Stock suspension and wheels anyhow. The rest of the changes are badges, alcantara sport seats (what is this, an Audi?) and somewhat more upscale door inserts.

That is a question in my mind. Many of us here went through the dealer fiasco in January, February and March of last year when the O3's hit our shores. Dealerships pocketed deposits and signed sales agreements as early as 12 month before only to renege on them. They stated the purchaser had acquired a position on a list and the right to buy only. So they where offered the right to buy the car at $35,000 to $40,000; if you declined then they went to the next person on the list. Go back and find the monster dealership boycott thread.

Why does anyone believe that MR's are going to go for less than 5K to 10K over MSRP? There are lots of car enthusiasts that can afford and will pay those amounts. If you have a sales agreement, I would have a lawyer seal it. Mitsubishi cars sales are poor and why do we expect dealerships not to try and make more money? I truly believe there are going to be a lot of angry and disappointed people who held off buying an 03 or 04 only to find they are priced out of the MR’s.

Doh!!!

I read some where that the internals of the 6 speed gear box occupies the space of the 5 spd...therefore i really did not expect it to be positioned any differently from that of the 5 spd.

I completely understand where a lot of people are a little worried all I can say is that my store from day one has sold at MSRP...PERIOD. All of the orders I take have in writing that the sale is at MSRP. I've been doing this for 10+ years and just don't agree with trying to rake customers over the coals just because a new model comes out. So plain and simple I am not and will not charge more than MSRP. By the way my store is on the original thread of dealers charging only MSRP for the EVO VIII
