Evolution MR - Mitsubishi Racing [MERGED]
I did not get the impression that the MR would have any more power over the regular Evos, just the 6 m/t, wheels, HIDs, and billsteins. And the Graphite Gray.
I think all '04 production has ceased for all Mitsubishi models, except for like Galants and '04.5 Endeavors. So regular '05 Mitsus should appear in like 3-4 months. As far as Evos go, they haven't appeared on time yet, why should they start now?

Just to inform everyone that i spoke with one of the regoinal managers of Mitsubishi and he said the MR is in fact comming
I am a current owner of a 2003 weightless white evo, which i will be trading in on a 2005 MR. He was still speculating on the colors he seemed to think it would only come in red and the silver color . Expected arrival he said could be anywhere between the middle of september through the end of December. I am one of two people on the waiting list here at this particular dealer in south Florida, and will be counting the days until arrival. Thanks for the pics of the test mule proof that its really on its way here .

The turbo on the MR should have a bigger exhaust housing--10.5 vs. 9.8. I don't think it's titanium. As to the SAYC, I don't think it's so much about it "sucking" as it is about the mechanical rear diff "feeling" and "driving" better. I've always just wanted ACD, anyway. THe mechanical rear diff on the evo is pretty good. And besides, with the SAYC there's just one more thing that can break (electronic gizmos being more fragile than strictly mechanical ones).
But you can't make everyone happy...

Patience, in 4 to 5 months they will be available, if not driving on the streets. Everything you want to know about them will be available soon enough.
I've got a sinking feeling though the MR will not be offered with a sunroof... or cruise control.. or a sequential manual transmission..

no that cant be right...i have seen a 2004 BBY evo on autotrader ...it is definately not electric blue and i highly doubt they are making 2 diffrent types of blues for the 04s.
also having a sunroof doesnt really make sense to me on the 05 because if the purpose of the lighter weight roof is just that ya would be wasting the point by adding a heavier sunroof setup...

It Is Coming
The car IS COMING, and he expects to have the first one delivered in the September to October timeframe. He told me he will be placing the order for the car along with his July - August orders. He said he expects to have official pricing information in 30 - 45 days. Per regulations, it is an '05 model.
No specs released. No information on option packages yet. He expects to have this in the 30-45 days. I am giving him a $100 binder at the end of the day to ensure I get the first one ordered. I will not be placing a deposit down on the car until it is ordered and I know all financial details.
So, the 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR IS COMING.

As previously stated, Mark has no information yet in regards to pricing or option sheets, and he won't know for another 4 - 6 weeks.
Regardless, at around 5PM EST, I will have reserved his first allocation of the MR. And there will be much rejoicing.
