Evolution MR - Mitsubishi Racing [MERGED]
FQ and MR are totally different versions. FQ is only for the UK market (built by ralliart UK???not sure anymore)whereas the MR is actually for the global market and built by Mitsubishi Racing (MR).

Keep in mind that the bone-stock EVO VIII in the UK is 24,000 british pounds. At current exchange rates, that means a bone-stock EVO III is ~ $42,900. The brits pay absolutely brutal taxes on cars. Heck, even a Corolla would cost you at least $5,100 more in the UK. Ouch!
$14,000 is still steep for the upgrade, but it's not nearly as bad as the $25,000 you originally figured.

1629 total Evos sold in Jan, Feb, Mar, and Apr of 2004
1027 total Evos sold in Feb (just a few sold near the end of the month), Mar, and Apr of 2003. You still need to include all the other months in 2003... so alot more than 2656 Evos have been sold since it's debut.
The Mr Is Coming Now
For all you nay-sayers or it's-not-coming-this-year-sayers...
Just spoke with the Rep from the Mitsu dealer outside of Cleveland (they are the ones selling the '04 Evo GSR on Ebay) who informed me that MMC is bringing the MR sooner than later and that they have already started production for LHD Evo MRs for the U.S.
The icing? He said that there's a boat with USDM LHD Evo MRs on their way... and maybe here as soon as 1wk to 1mnth. No one knows.
Why do I believe him? Well they sold over 30 Evos to date.. and they are already selling '04 Evo GSRs.

So plain and simple I am not and will not charge more than MSRP. By the way my store is on the original thread of dealers charging only MSRP for the EVO VIII
That actually does make sense that they may already be on the way over. According to a fanatic who is also a dealer, MMC brought over a lot of Evos quite a bit before they were released to dealerships and they were stockpiled in LA then shipped to many dealers simultaneously. So it does make sense that they may already be in production and possibly on the way over. Still, I think we won't see them at dealers until Oct/Nov.
That means mine won't be ready until around February (he he...wait 'till you see what I'm going to do to this thing

easy there chode. when a new and highly anticipated car first comes out, especially when supply is limited, dealers in bigger markets always tack on "market adjustments." it's total crap and it wouldn't work if people just refused to buy the cars from these greedy bastards. but the thing is...people DO buy the cars.
when the s2000 first came out, i saw people in my city gladly paying over $40K! and greed wasn't limited just to the dealers. some people managed to buy at MSRP then resold the cars privately for big profits.
sometimes MSRP isn't such a bad deal...

Agreed to the above post. Limited production vehicles commonly go for MSRP, because the sad fact is...there is always someone willing to pay more for these type cars. Just getting it without dealer markup seems decent considering we are talking about the MR.
So, uhh.. anyone know if all the MR big wings will be all black? I asked this before, but I never got an answer and I'm still wondering. In all the pics that I've seen, the wing is all black, instead of being painted the body color on the sides.
