Where is the Vortex Generator? The wheels are not the same as the MR tested in Motor Trends new magazine,Speed.Iam not sure though, it does have the ACD switch I am still skeptical though, teh MR its do out until the fall.
First of all They are not going to put a vortex generator or the carbon colored spoiler on a test car, what’s there to test, the standard spoiler is the same and it does the same job. The wheels I think you’ll find are the same BBS alloys.
The Test cars in the Motor trends magazine were test cars in Japan at Mitsu HQ, If you haven’t noticed it already the one photo of the Interior of the MR is a reversed print / Negative, Look at the Pedals, The hand brake lever and the Instrument cluster, look at where the Rev limit is on the Tach. the picture is backwards, so it is a RHD car.
The test car here is only testing the suspension setup, 6 spd, EPA emissions and so, In order to do so they need the car to look as run of the mill as they can. The key thing to note here on the shell is the roof, that has the characteristic lines of the Aluminum roof, so that tells me that it is an imported European shell, due to it being LHD although it could have been converted to RHD, as far as the Centre console 6 spd hack is concerned, that is just a piece of plastic, the shifter throw looks like it is shorter.
Most of you are concerned about the lights the fact they aren’t blacked out, Big deal, is that going to change the performance testing numbers? No, nothing is finalised yet as far as trim specs are concerned, we may not even get the blacked out lights, due to light output figures etc (they might not be legal) as someone already mentioned, and we most definitely won’t get the Amber pieces in the bottom of the lights like the UK and Japan Spec lights, so stop moaning and wait to see what happens, I mean is that seriously going to stop you owning an awesome car, cause of the lights.
And who ever said the lights are smoked they are wrong, the housings are flat black as opposed to chromed, the lenses are clear.
Looks like there is too much reading between the lines, step back once in a while and see the whole puzzle, not just focus on the one piece.

Nope it looks like the standard setup for the wing, Body color on the outer edges and carbon on the inner. So what is your point?
Last year a lot of you were asking if the Evo came without the big wing, Idiots how can you take the wing off and expect the car to be a sleeper, it has fender flares, 17” enkei rims, Brembo brakes a big old Hood vent, (oh but that must be for allowing the rain water in to keep the engine clean, right! idiots),
the big spoiler is part of the characteristics and is functional for the Evo. same with the STI, Glad they are finally standard, should never have been an option in the first place. may as well buy a standard lancer ES and pretend it is an EVO.

We are getting a 276Hp version of the engine, the FQ series apparently is not legal but cause there is a loop hole in the law they can offer it as a dealer fitted option in the UK
But yes we will probably be getting the FQ series, but it will not be this Year or next year. But keep an eye on the Crystal ball in the UK though.
The name says it all, EVO LU TION, there is always going to be something better next year.

Don’t get me started on Exchange rates and taxes and gas prices and so on, I used to live in the UK, you guys don’t know how lucky you are, not to mention the Insurance rates. as the Evo is in group 20 of 20 same as ferrari’s, Lambo’s and so on. I was never able to afford one in the UK, same goes for the Escort RS Cosworths, Sierra Sapphire Cosworth 4X4, RS 500, Subaru STI's all very high insurance cause thieving little bastards can't keep their hands to them selves.

It's supply and demand. 2003 Evo8s sold for $39,999 (10K markup) here in NorCal when it 1st came out but on April 2004 they were selling them at $25,500. I asked around and I heard they were getting rid of their stock for the MR. That is when I 1st heard about the MR.
Just think how can a dealer afford a big lot, lights, Heat/AC, and salesmen (are they like waiters? making commisson? low out of pocket owner's cost?). If the dealers are only making $1,000/per car than I think it'll be more profitable to buy up starbucks and Jumba Juices.
oh my goodness, that's so untrue... they make A LOT, they ALWAYS MAKE they aquire the cars at something like half the window price, the only reason they "won't sell" to you if you ask too low is that it becomes "not worth it" to sell at such a low price cuz they "know" they can sell for more to someone else. car dealerships make TONS. that's why most people that own a car dealership own multiple car dealerships, they become these families that roll in the cash.

demand/low supply cars like EVO)... but I think dealers make most of their money

it's just an adjustable torque split between front and back, the sti has the same thing but it has the added feature of more adjustability besides just the presets. also has the added benefit of being able to move power between front and back when losing traction, where i think straight up center diffs don't do that.

To my last statement...
I think, as well as many of the enthusiasts that having only 2500 evo's come over. Since it's the NEW Evo you'd think they should bring at least the 5k over that the VIII came over with.
