As for the comments earlier in the thread about dealers giving them away that is NOT going to be the case either, while some areas may have issues with winter weather, etc, that is not a large part of the country. CA, AZ, TX, for example are not going to have any concerns with "winter" weather, and the largest dealers are in these states.
So glad I'm buying from you. 1/3 of all cars sold in the US go to CA alone. And Mitsu is heavily biased to the west anyways. Back in the eighties they were farthest east was Chicago.

nope, not yet buddy... supposedly October 14th for our dealership, let's see how well they keep their word on this one! MR's @ MSRP all day long. Total of 16 coming, 5 or 6 available for deposit.

nOT A bad idea at all if you don't have any prob with your 03.

I might even wait for the variable valve timing head if I were in your shoes.

There needs to be a substantial amount of improvements in order to justify it..

Just not enough at this point..
Its actually too bad cuz I was looking forward to the MR.

I agree. If they had included cruise, the blacked out head and taillights, and improved guages, even if just a change of colors, I think I could have justified it, just marginally. a few small things is all it would have taken, but hey, it's my money, and I get what I want the way I want it for what I think is fair. I think the 05 STi has a better bang for the buck stock. For modding a used MR in 18 months would be a better choice. For now a used 03 Evo with some coil overs, cage, and slicks will be plenty fun.

Exclamation

No MSRP, No release date(Oh, Fall04), BS stories from dealers.....very good Mitsubishi this is the way to regain sales.....sorry had to vent.........

It seems that Mitsu is playing games with the release so that their assclown dealers can mark the car up. They want to build the hype so they can get ya for extra 5,000$. This is just a game....and they will turn off a lot of perspective buyers because of this cheap marketing BS and dealer greed.

The Evo is a great car manufactured by a company with no marketing and no public relations skills. I recall Mitsu saying just after the 03 evo was released that the car(EVO) will move further away from the Jap. spec evo and no future model upgrades will be implemented. (why would you want to say this about you best product?) and @ the same time dealers were marking the car up $5,000. SAME WILL HAPPEN THIS TIME.. WATCH!!! They will sell the 05 and next year and you will probably see items like S-YAW standard on all evos and the same BS will start over again.

I pulled my deposit on the MR and bought a Corvette C6 which BTW almost cost the same 39,000(employee discount) and I knew what the MSRP was 6 months before the car was released. I'm somewhat glad that mitsu delayed the MR release because it made me look somewhere else and I'm happy. The C6 is more of a performer and hell of a sports car.....insane power!!!

Good Luck to you all waiting for the MR...........

Well guys I just saw the first MR on the street just as the owner was about to drive out of the dealership. It was the most amazing thing that happened to me all week. I was passing by the dealership and I just happened to glance over to the dealership like I always do and low and behold a Purple Mica Grey was parked infront of the place.

I made a U-turn so fast and almost caused an accident while crossing over the solid double lines just to see the car.

When I got there the Manager and the owner was just pulling the stickers off the car and the "handing of the keys" was just taking place. After the Manager stepped inside and the owner was about to leave I had to stop him and ask him a couple of questions like how much it cost and how much he put down and the like. $35k all paid in full.

I must admit that after seeing the Mica in person it is the best color. All hail MICA

Anybody living in the Bronx and knows where the La Sorsa dealership is on Gun Hill Rd and Webster Ave is should pay them a visit. There are selling for MSRP

Tustin Mitsubishi has 5 MR's on the lot.. all have an $8000 dealer markup and two $500 protection thingies. Grand total, $44500 sticker price.. Two graphite, two silver, one white... Damn that graphite grey is awesome though! The MR rims look crappy on the white..
