Sounds like a plan

But I think that M3lachsilber has it right. If they mention too early about the MR the 03's will be history. Either that or they will take a huge hit money-wise.

I was suprised how quiet the and smooth it became. More torque in the mid range.
The steering was heavier comparing to US spec, I guess because of AYC and ACD. I had hard time finding 2nd gear, I like 5 spd since it's my daily driver.
OMG you lucky bastard. I envy you. Now be honest which one would you rather?

Just out of curiosity, did everyone sign the petition? We have to attack from all sides. From phones to mail to e-mail to faxes to camping out front of MMNA(if push comes to shove)

What ever it takes to get the info we need.

Wait....

So it IS possible to drift with the ACD/SAYC? What speed does this need to happen at? I'm curious because I like drifting and don't want the ACD/AYC to hold me back. I don't want to have to travel at crazy ***in speeds to do it in either. Someone help me out....If you don't want to do it here, please PM me.

I'm not so sure...

The '03 Evos are in fact 1.5yr old cars. No one in there right mind... or with some buisness sense... is going to pay MSRP for the car. They're going to move at a minimal if any profit for the dealers... as is now, they just are constant reminders of unrecoverable cost.

Also, the dealers have an incentive with the new models arriving to clear them out to guarantee the '04 cars on their lot.

And, lets not forget insurance. Yeah, you get a break when you buy a new, year old car, but, if it gets into a wreck, you'll imediately take a year (or age of the car) of depreciation from your deductible.

99 Red Trial Balloons

One more thing...

At this point in time, really has no choice but to bring the Evo MR to .

Why? Yeah, there maybe no 'official press release,' but they have been fueling the media-mill for the past 5mnths.. Why are all these journals getting wind, or having test drives, or getting the CEO to say you bet your a## it's coming ?

Because was at first feeding interest and trying to gauge it, and now is stuck, because they've gone too far.... and even the CEO is comitted now.

You can only cry wolf so many times...

They realize they've gone beyond interest. They've made a cult following, and to not deliver will not only lose fans, but make the general public question the integrity of the company... and a Japanese one at that.

When? Soon...

What's it gonna cost?

As most of you read in the "Speed" article, they believe the MR will debut for around $33,000. I know the EVO VIII went for a lot more than that when it first hit the US, so what do you think the MR will cost for the first 3-6 months it's on sale here in America?

MSRP, because they won't find buyers otherwise. Enthusiasts, who make up the majority of Evo buyers, will just buy the standard Evo and mod it, if the dealers try to gouge. Other people will hesitate paying $35K or more when they can get into a luxury sedan for the same amount or a little more.

$35k for an MR? That would be totally awesome. I was expecting around $50,000 for some reason.

Get an ACD upgrade ECU K1 or K2 from Ralliart. Or get a Silvia if your serious about drifting.

In the end it is just the surface of the road and the contact patch of your tires. The ACD/AYC system is not magic just physics.

well to be honest... the MR thats coming to the US is just the JDM evo coming here in my eyes... 300 hp, front LSD etc etc...probably doesnt cost mitsu much to stick a MR label on it and tweak it.. then wait for the profits : )

Well since you have an EVO it might not be such a big deal. I have an OZ and that would be a major upgrade for me.

What's the JDM EVO? Is that what it's called in Japan?
