Evolution MR - Mitsubishi Racing [MERGED]
I don't follow what your saying. Maybe I'm missing something, but wasn't the 2003 EVO VII available in the states for most of 2003? We are just 4 months into 2004.....
my $.02

I actually had to trim a lot of stuff. heh. I guess I've been listening to too much of the 911 hearings.. that's some longwinded stuff to say nearly nothing.. It's affecting me.. making me go on and on and on... crap.. stop me now..
One quick thingk to try to summarize. -- The market is quite capable of sustaining the MR and more, despite any notions that 03 Evos sales are not stellar.
Hey, did you catch the page number of the thread???!
O help me.
<------------------------- not bothering w/MR... waiting for new GT-R...
Same here. Already set up a special savings account for a nice fat down payment. I was reading a new publication the other day "CARGO", I guess its the latest rag on mens fashion and what not. Anyway they had a list of cars that are supposed to hit the US shores in the next couple years and I was happy to see the had the GT-R listed for 2007. Looked like an R-34, but I suppose thats the only pic they had. As I assume the version we get will be new style R-35.

These guys here are lame. They are missing out on the fun.
First we have fun with Evo, by the time GT-R comes out we have paid off the Evo already and ready to buy the GT-R
I wouldn't be surprised if when the us variant of the skyline shows up they luxurize it, or at least often it like the STi. I've not seen nor heard of but a handful of cars that have the razor sharp feel of the Evo. And all but the Evo are well over $100k. Either way I've been hearing GT-R possiblities as long as I have been hearing AWD Focus possibilities. Show me a CEO's confirmation.. Then get me a test drive first. So glad/humbled that friends got the Evo and made me drive it. And more so now that I had the patience to hold out past the introduction model year.. If the GT-R or actually any car from now on, JMHO, I forever plan to hold out on the introduction model year, with a maybe a few $500k+ cars the exception.. McLaren F1.. Enzo.. Enough rambling.. WHo's got connections with a current Evo MR owner somewhere on this planet who can get us some awesome Vids of the MR. I think my Best Motoring DVD is about to spin apart from overwatching..
Well I'm not sure I'll be able to hold out for the MR. My RSX-S will be paid off next month, and I plan on selling it myself. I want to use the money for a down payment on the EVO. I was hoping to wait for the MR's to arrive, but I don't have the self discipline. My only saving grace will be if no one buys my RSX before the MR's arrive here. If I'm lucky maybe my RSX won't sell for 5 to 6 months, and by that time the MR's will be here. God I wish I could stop myself!
The new GT-R, much like the Evo8 was, is being designed for "worldwide release." Which includes NA. When Mitsu said the Evo was coming to the US, they never specified 7/8. They just said "it is coming" and there were many flame wars over what we would get (the 8 wasn't out at that point).
Nissan has made it pretty clear that the new GT-R will be worldwide product, and now that the sports car market is back in swing Nissan will no doubt want to participate in that higher-end market ($40K+?). Not to mention, the new GT-R is supposed to be rivals with some of the upper-end Porsches, so we may see higher powered US variants of the Japanese car (e.g., 3000GT, 300zx, etc).

I think if Mitsu bring the MR with the ACD/SAYC it will be more welcomed. Even if it is optional just give us the choice. This car definitely appeals to a certain crowd and fans of the car will love to see those options.(If you don't want that option, don't check the box)
*F* that...
They better make the damn ACD a standard on the MR. If they don't then they lose to Subbie.
On the topic of turbocharged cars. Don't forget about the 300zx, VR4, and the like. Those are still monsters and not a force to be reckoned with. Remember...Displacement is key.
If mitsu screws with the MR at all...takes away anything or does some funky *** design...I'm going STi. As hardcore a DSM fan I am...they can't *F* with that *S*.
I'm getting to the point where i'm getting antsy. They better bring the damn MR over and fast. Or at least CONFIRM a date.
PS. No offense to you MisterZx23...but please edit your posts so they make sense. Spell check bro
