5K in addition to the normal GSR and RS Evo's? I think that's saturating the market right there.

What do they mean "new set of multi-element headlights, revised front spoiler"? It looks pretty much the same to me... (yeah the headlights are blacked out.. but that makes it multi-element?)
The roof cuts 6.0kg
The door beams cut 4.7kg
The wheels cut 5.0kg

That puts you at about 35lbs. Add back in some weight for the tranny, badging, vortex generator, pedal covers, and other small bits, and 30lbs or so sounds about right.

The 6 speed alone weighs about 22 lbs more than the 5 speed... FYI.

I was speaking to my dealer, and apparently the ACD settings change the time delay from when the rear diff locks...i.e in gravel setting, it takes longer for the diff to lock than it does when in Tarmac mode. I have yet to try it out, because luckily it has only been dry when I've gone round a orner

You mean the delay for the center diff? hence Active Center Differential?

Kind of makes me wish they brought over the equivelant of an MR RS, with A/C optional.

Get the 6-speed, the Bilsteins, the lighweight BBS alloys, and still get the weight savings from the thinner sheet metal/glass, no speakers or radio, no extra carpet, no sound deadening, no A/C, and all that jazz.

Would be a great starting point for a track car. Though I guess it won't matter in the end. By the time my MR's autocrossing days are over and it's doing regular road-racing, I think the most I'll be doing is wishing it had the different sheet metal and glass.

Mitsubishi Evo VIII MR FQ-340
This what the Britts get: 340 HP. New engine management is used to get the extra power.

Just wonder - are they voiding their own warrenty by reprogramming? And what about the clutch? If it's the std US clutch it can last more than a few months...

I have the MR320...(same but without the piggyback ecu)...no question over keeping the warranty, as mitsubishi do the converstions. As for clutchs, I'm not sure what you have, but it's always been a week point on the UK evos...better to get a helix organic or something once the original has fried! The MR340 puts out nearly 350bhp,and the 320, near 330bhp. In fact a standard GSR (FQ300 over here) was RR's at 320.9 bhp with no mods

I've been following Mitsu, and they might be pulling out of that funk that they got themselves into over in Japan.

*Crosses Fingers*

Do we know what the gear ratios are for the '05 5-speed and 6-speed transmissions? I'm wondering how much the 6-speed decreases the engine RPM at highway speeds.

I think we should be more worried about if Mitsu is going to keep alive. It really sounds like they're drowning from the reports.
