The Evo8 wing is full carbon fiber. It's just painted on the sides. More of an aesthetic change, really.

The clutch we got in the US sucks because Mits. knew people would go drag racing with it. If you compare the US spec clutch to the ones they get in Japan, ours is significantly weaker. The weakest link in the system goes first right? Better to have the clutch go than the drivetrain I guess. But still, it would be nice to have a stronger factory clutch for those of us who don't drag race...

Nice pictures! Do you know when you'll have info on the new '05 STi Spec C on your site japanvehicles.com?

When Subaru get around to releasing an '05 here

we will, like always, be the first to have it
This will likely be later in the Year coincident with the Evo release as these cars are traditionally competitors in price and performance

Glad you liked the pictures of the JDM Evo; Mitsubishi tell me this will be the last of this shape and they have something NEW in the pipeline (which is about time, as this shape has been around too long now) Mits. have not released a picture of the new Evolution or the spec., they didn't have this at the last Tokyo Auto Show, so I would say October/November 2004 they will have some pictures out and Jan '05 in Japan orders will start for the new car

The '04 MR is out of production here now; all RS's are sold out, and there are 80 MR's still in Mitsubishi stock various Colors and spec, they will all be sold out in the next couple weeks

EvoIX eh? It'll be interesting to see in what direction the Evo goes. It seems obvious that the Evo has become much more of a track car than a rally car - Mitsu having to completely re-engineer the WRC car proves that. The long wheelbase and heavier chassis simply is not conducive to a light and maneuverable rally car. Those some things has made it quite the track car, however, besting the STi in basically every category. I can't imagine what the new one will look like... if it's not based on the Cedia, what will it be based on? I haven't heard anything about a new Lancer base yet (even the new '04 Lancer is Cedia based, I believe). Can't wait.

The BBS rims, the vortex generator, and tint all seem to be factory options (or dealer options). I assumed that all MR GSR's would come equipped with the ACD, but I could be wrong. Usually the ACD/SAYC is standard on the GSR. (but optional on the RS's)

Alot of options to pay for. You figure the evo 8 wing was near 500 i cant image rims from a dealer LOL or anything else. I remember the guy was like u want the gauge package LOL the price was a joke. Thing will be easily over mid 31s after the options and taxes. you figure the base price , what ever options that has already is 33 grand thats including taxes. Then you can guarantee that lovely dealer market up LOL. Just have to wait and see.

132,000 yen for the BBS rims? That is not bad at all! Of course, you can't actually do a fair conversion, you have to account for that market etc... I would be fairly surprised if the BBS rims were that cheap here.

That is *not* a press release. All that is is a picture and a blurb about the MR. It doesn't mean anything unless it is accompanied by a press release.

I am starting to wonder if people understand what a "press release" actually is...

I don't think they do, plus, from what it seems, noone actually reads this thread from the beginning.

That shows the GSR with the front helical LSD as well!
That would be awsome if all the 04s got the front LSD, like the 04 SRT4s did, heh. the RSs and GSRs and MRs..
