I think that ACD will make it but the SAYC is still up in the air. The MR is what it is with the combination of all the *goodies* Mitsu has to realize that the US market is just as or even more competitive than the markets abroad. Subaru realizes this and is not holding back with the STi so why should Mitsu *F* up the MR.
I agree with you on the fact that they should confirm a date as to when they will release it to the US

I am blue balled already aswell but as i said in the petition to get the MR here i WIll buy one when they hit the dealers around here. Hopefully Mitsu will bring it around Nov-Dec thats when ill be really ready for it before that ill still buy it but itll be tight

I'm serious when I say that if they don't bring the MR over in full form than I'm gonna go to the STi. It'll be more fun to drive.

For 2004 [2005 for all other cars and models] the evolution will get a new 315 watt infiniti stereo with a subwoofer and leather recaro seats as options in addition to what options are available on the 2003 evo. The mr will be available in the USA in a 1 1/2 years.

I heard it's WAY hard to drift the evo with the SAYC because it shifts the power so much.

 

I guess when you put it in "gravel" mode, the fun starts!!

Remeber the vid of that White EVO on the track losing it and then flipping over??

I think the driver had it in that mode and it was tail happy as hell..

Caused the car to hit the berm and tip/flip..

The video of that white Evo drifiting was an RS - the RS can be ordered without the ACD and AYC. So we don't actually know whether the car had active diffs or not...

I've drifted no problem with AYC. SAYC works the same as AYC it just has higher velocity differential limits.

So yes drifting is no problem with a Evo ACD/SAYC. Just remember the the cornering limits are very high on any Evo. The drift will be at higher speeds with more risks than other cars.

 

Okay, so I just got off the phone with my hook up at the mitsu dealer... start askin bout this and primarily the MR. He says they won't bother bringing it to their lot so I ask "why" he says the MR should be here in the upcoming months. However it has NO A/C?! He says they'll stick to the Evo's they have, they're easy sellers for them and they don't want a car that they'll have trouble getting rid of. He admits the MR is more performance however the 03 Evo VIII as is is the bang for the buck. So I ask... well why haven't any of the reviews I've read said anything about no A/C? And he just replies... "remember... it's marketing... we're trying to sell cars here. We have a 35k dollar car for sale... would you advertise it with no AC?" So in shock and awe I get off the phone gloomily wondering if it REALLY was/is worth the wait... dunno bout most of you all but I'm about a heart beat away from getting one off the lot RIGHT NOW... dunno guess we'll see what happens? So what do you all think, because in the magazine reviews it shows AC in the car... is it just the US getting ripped on this deal? Someone GET ME SOME CLEAR ANSWERS lol!!

 

Dealer just wants you to buy one of their EVOs they have on the lot now plus dealers know less then we do

Dude, that dealer guy is confused between the EVO RS and MR . The MR is the EVO 8.5. I'm personally hoping for auto climate control not just A/C.
